Nose Color? Has any ones pup's nose changed color? Remy's went from black to brown. Is this normal? Please advise. |
I have never heard of it. I think they just stay black. |
Hi, I have herd that plastic food and water bowls will do this. I switched to ceramic and stainless and no more brown tints on noses :>) Angie |
well that is interesting, i've never heard of that. :) |
I read in some dog book that it means they aren't getting enough sunlight. I can't remember if it was about Yorkies or just dogs in general though! Sorry. |
|
Huh... Bailey's has not changed,, black and still black, he must get enough sunlight... God knows he will find it in any room, and lay in it,, I always say he's trying to get a suntan. |
Maddie had a small patch of white on the edge of her nose and I kept forgetting to ask the vet about it because she was having so many other problems at the time that we were trying to figure out. I decided to try putting neosporin on the spot and it cleared up and is back to black and has stayed that way. I did change her bowls from plastic to stainless steel...maybe that's what helped that spot. That link that sabrinasmom gave was very interesting! |

They eat out of ceramic bowls. I think I will make a trip to the vet. |

Roxy has black and TJ has brown. It was a medium bronw when he was little and now it is dark brown. I think it is cute :) |
Pat posted on a similar thread like this a few weeks back. When the nose changes colors, she said they need more sun. |
So far mine all have black noses except for my chocs whose noses are liver colored..I have heard the same thing Pat saidand people who have tried it and it worked.. |
Chocs You know, mine might be a choc....I didn't know there was any such thing. I am new to "Yorkie land" and this is how mine looks - nose wise. Hmmm....you have opened my eyes to all the other colors in the Yorkie line. Now, I just need help with training him. He has not been used to a lot of people contact, having been a stud dog, but he is certainly warming up to me. I have had him about 6 weeks. I had him neutered, but we are having a little difficulty with potty training. Now I know that I am sending mixed signals - doing one thing one time and the next not doing it. DUH! |
