Help!! Gizmo's 1st trip to the groomers Gizmo went to the vet this morning, I have used them before, but he seems very depressed. And he keeps trying to scratch his left ear.... It looks fine. There aren't any cuts anywhere but on his left ear on the bottom it looks scabby..... But it doesn't look like it was a cut or scrape? Any ideas? I am thinking he might of been traumatized by the noises.... I left his blankey for comfort, I know he doesn't like showers or water for that matter but I dunno???? P.S How long does it take for their hair to grow back? They cut it a bit too short for my liking? Just wondering???? |
;) ummm... bump |
where is every1??? |
He might be irritated from the products that they used to clean his ears at the groomers. Also, he might be scabby from scratching himself so much. Check his ears to make sure there are no ear mites. I would wait a couple days to see if the scratching calms down. Then maybe clean his ears yourself... maybe he has some residue in there of strong product that irritated him. |
It might be irritated or maybe he has water in his ears. |
how can I get the water out of his ears? I have some ear mite solution at home, do you think I should put it on him , just in case? p.s Did I mention it is on the side of his ear, from bottom to middle of ear, not inside.. |
bump ;) |
I took him a shower last night with Oatmeal Shampoo, maybe it will help, he seemed to stop scratching but this morning again he was scratching and whining, he seems to have a hurt spot around that area because if you touch him a certain way he yelps? I dunno.. any suggestions?? |
If he yelps. he's in pain. I would have the vet check him out. If water was in he's ears, he would try to shake it out. I don't think I would take the risk of it being something else. Give your vet a call and see what they say. As far as hair growing back, it takes two -three months, depending on how short they trimmed it. Good Luck, please keep us posted on his ears. |
I agree if he is yelping I would call the vet. Better safe than sorry. Keep us posted |
