I can laugh now This story is a bit gross. Yesterday when my husband walked in the door from work all the dogs ran up to him excited for their hug and kisses except Charm. That is not normal for her she loves her daddy. I went over to her and her ears were down she had a pitiful look on her face and she wouldn't move. We called her and she wouldn't stand up or move and I panicked. I thought she'd gotten hurt because she was playing with Chloe and Claire right before this running around the room. I picked her up and she started shaking so I thought she must have gotten hurt. I jumped on the phone to my vets office and handed her over to my husband. While I was on the phone he was looking her over and noticed a tiny half inch piece of poop stuck to her butt. It was was attached by hairs that were inside her, he pulled it out and it was a long strands of my hair she must of eaten. It must have frighten her so bad she wouldn't move. After it was out she ran around the room all happy like thank you all playful. I had to tell the vet tech on the phone sorry it was just a bit of poop stuck in her hair she wasn't hurt. She just laughed and said she was happy it wasn't anything serious. I can laugh now but she scared me to death. |
Pasquale does the same thing. One day he went upstairs to go poop (thats where he pee pad is) ....well it was taking him forever to come back downstairs. So I go up there and he's standing still..would not move. I knew what had happened cause he does this anytime something is stuck to his bum. I'm just wondering how long he would have stayed there for LoL |
Yet another thing to check before you panic... Thanks for sharing this! |
Wow. I'm glad it wasn't anything serious, but that's kinda funny! |
That's very common in Yorkies. It helps to trim the hair off of their private areas regularly to prevent the build up of feces. Our Amber always hid in a corner when she had a bit of poop stuck to her tail feathers. Yorkies are very sensitive to things like that. |
Funny. I also learned to check their buts when they are acting strange, if that's clear than I panic. lol |
Pnut does the same thing. He likes to eat my hair.. and yes sometimes he will poo and one poo will be hanging by a hair and he will freak out about it.. i try to sweep and vacum but he will find the hair!! |
I do keep the hair trimmed their but her little tail was down. It was just a tiny piece of poo but the hairs it was attached to were about 10 inches long when it was pulled out yuck. I think I'll keep my hair in a pony tail for a while lol. |
Im glad it wasnt anything serious. Mine hide when they have poop on their butt |
Mine do the same thing too!! Couver hates having poop on his butt and will tuck his tail and pout about it. Khloe had some stuck recently and she ran in circles like a crazy girl :p |
Lord it must be a yorkie thing when we first got porscha i didn't know what was wrong with her she was just sitting and shaking and she had poop so now when she is like that hubby will hollow butt wash naturally hubby thinks it funny told him the other day that we were going to switch ends he alway call heads inside joke here pat |
sienna my poor still not 3 lb widget princess gets them stuck half in half out now thats what mommy wants to do help you finish poopin there always very solid when this happens so shes pretty uncomfortable and there hard to get out ...oh the joys of mommyhood |
OMG -- I have to stop reading these posts at work. Already had tears running down my face from another thread and now I'm sitting here snorting. My colleagues may be getting ready to call the guys in the white jackets to come for me... |
Must be a yorkie thing for sure! Lily looks for hair to eat in my bathroom...when the poo is hanging on for dear life by the hair she runs around the room like something is chasing her! Funny to see but I know exactly what it is everytime! :) |
scared me to death the first time it happened with Dexter too! i thought he wasn't breathing because he was sitting so still. |
When Macy poos ,she runs before the poo hits the potty pad. She acts like the poo is going to get her. It's funny everyone has a poo story. |

I always say she runs like the poop is going to bite her on the butt! |
Lizzy is the same about poop, but she can't walk even if she has a leaf stuck in her fur. |
Same thing happened to me the day we brought our first Yorkie pup home...I panicked ran her to the vet practically screaming all the way her insides were coming out and they "oh just poop and hair.." they shaved her butt and I've kept it shaved ever since. Kendra |
The first time Zeke got poop stuck to his butt, he ran around the house screaming like a banchee. We thought he was really hurt, but all he was trying to do was get away from his poop. It was really funny to us, but not to him. |
I'm so glad I'm not alone I've been laughing all day reading everyone's story:D |
See, THIS is what I thought I was going to be reading about when I saw a thread captioned ""Yorkie Poo"" I think it is hysterical that Yorkies are soooo phobic about clingons. Most other dogs seem to be dirty creatures that just don't really notice or care. Baxter is a Maltipoo and he doesn't like poop stuck to him either, but most others, yeah.. |
So funny. I am sitting here reading this thinking, 'gee-same thing happens to Lily!' Then my husband says just now- "what is sticking out of Lily's butt? Does she have a krusty again?!" How ironic. |
The downside of having long hair! Dolly eats mine whenever she can, & gets the little hangers. I pick her waste up with bags, so I have to wrap the bag around my hand and pull the rest of my piece of hair out of her bum! The first time BF watched her by himself, he freaked out and called me LOL good thing he loves her so much. |
What a funny thread. Edward is the same way with the poo, when i first got him I didnt really know either but one day i come home and find him in his room next to the potty pad with his ears and tail down. Eventhough what scared me was the fact that he didnt come greet me, So I tell my bf something is wrong with him OMG I told you we shouldnt have left him alone. So I pick him up and he start shaking and then i felt the poo on my arm. yuck but whatever got him clean and everything was well. Now whenever I see him acting strange like that I also first check his butt. |
We can relate to your story too. My two girls just freeze if there is a "dangley" involved. |
My Izzie does the very same thing. Scared me to death the first few times. |

I've got long hair, and there have been a few times where Miles has accidentally eaten some and it resulted in the phenomenon I like to call "poop on a string". So funny! |
