What is best way to calm down a Yorkie Pup (15 weeks)? Chews? Ideas please My little patrón has been absolutely wild today and I can't seem to calm him down even when he is out of his playpen. Nylabone chews sometimes keep him entertained but only for 2-3 minutes. Anyone have any ideas of what I could give him for entertainment so I could study well? Any ideas are helpful. Also, he has a teething bone along with Nylabone (Safe to consume) then a crinkly butterfly, and a squeeky doll. Then tennis balls galore from itty bitty to LARGE |
I would recommend playing fetch with him and giving him a good run about the house. He needs the exercise. Then you could give him something to chew on to occupy him. He's a terrier and is high-energy. A tired yorkie will be a good yorkie. Also, mine used to love to chew on bully sticks when she was teething. What a blessing those things were! I swear she would have eaten the whole house if not for them.:) |

I agree that you just need to tire him out. He's still very little and should tire easily. Then he will sleep and leave you to you study. |

I have a 16 week puppy and let me just tell you, Bully Sticks are my sanity-savers. Seriously. |
I like merrick flossies and bravo trackea. They are all natural and don't smell at all!:) |

Most pet stores have the bully sticks. There is someone on here who sells them also but for immediate fix run to petsmart, pet quarters, any pet store and look. I have not seen them at walmart though, so pet stores are the answer. Make sure when the stick gets down to about an inch and a half you throw it away and get another cause he can choke on it if he puts the whole thing in his mouth. Mine absolutely love bully sticks.....I just do not care to touch em too much:p |
If you could walk him before you study, it might tire him out so that you can study, or maybe you can find someone in your area with another dog that would watch him for a few hours so that he would have someone to play with. Also, you could get a cat that is used to and liikes dogs. That would keep him occupied. |
Good Point. I have 4 dogs and my Zazh who is totally wild is so tired after playing with the other dogs I put him in his playpen at 7:30 PM and he sleeps until 6:00 AM the next morning. |
