Keeping Puppy Busy Help! Piper got spayed today and also had to have several puppy teeth pulled. The vet just called and said that everything went great but because the teeth were impacted she had to have some sutures in 4 places. He wants her to eat soft food for a while and doesn't want her to chew. Yikes! How am I supposed to keep a puppy busy that loves to chew on everything!? Any tips on what I can do with her that doesn't involve food, treats, toys, or chews? |
Sounds to me like you just became a 24-hour kissing toy. Hmmmm... that is probably not much different than normal. Seriously though, sorry I do not have any real ideas. I am sure others here are going to be chiming in with tons of suggestions. Praying for speedy recovery! :getwellso |
She is home and looks like crap...poor girl. The only thing I can come up with it semi freezing her canned food and letting her lick it. Any other ideas? |
I would puree her food and then make sure it is really cold when you give it to her. I don't think you want to freeze it though. She could probably eat some yogurt and a little ice cream. Cottage cheese might be good also. |
Would a kong with frozen yogurt or peanut butter be too hard on her mouth? I've noticed that mine don't actually chew on the kong, but rather they use their tongues to lick out every last bit. |

The vet thinks that a kong may be ok if she doesn't chew....I'm going to wait a few days and maybe try it first with just unforzen stuff and see how that goes. |
