Yorkie for Adoption in Petsmart Okay, this is so sad. I went to drop Ellie off to be groomed today, and used Petsmart because I just moved to FL and didn't know where else to take her. Today were their adoption event. There was a 5lb yorkie male for adoption for $250. I wish that I had the extra money, but there was nothing I could do. I hope that he finds a new home fast. |
I trust the Yorkie was there with a Rescue? Hopefully they will find a terrific home for the dog. That is what I like about Petsmart, they let Rescues use the place on weekends for adoptions and awareness. However, I once took Carlo to a Petsmart in Phoenix, and since then, he lets you know he does not like his mails clipped. Not sure what they did, but that was the last time he was groomed there. |

It was a rescue group, although, I don't remember which one. He had a sad story. According to his adoption papers, his owner bought him as a gift for his wife since their large dog had passed away. She got very mad with her husband and said it was too soon. He was surrendered to the rescue hoping that he finds a good home. He was a beautiful Yorkie. |

What a sad story that poor little guy has. If it's any consolation, the rescue my mom got her babies through said they always adopted out their yorkies first at those events. |
That's how I got Lily. I found her on petfinder, contacted the rescue, and then picked her up at the Petsmart event that weekend. |
Did you get any phone numbers for the agency at Petsmart? You might can call and check on him. If he does not have a "foster family" you may can foster him until you get the money to adopt him. My family did that for a border collie mix earlier this year and it worked out great. It also gave our other dogs a chance to see if they would get along with one another. Let me know! I am interested to at least see if maybe he was adopted by another family... |

What happened to Bentley?! Does anybody know? I bet he was one of the first to be chosen. I would not have been able to resist him myself! At our Petsmart a few years ago they had a really sad story involving a puppy lab/heinze 57 mix that some lowlife b?&%@*d:mad::mad: set on fire! he was rescued and treated by the rescue group/vet. Didn't have a home so he was at the Petsmart adoption for about 8 months. Everytime i saw him there my heart just melted...I wanted him so bad but i did not have the room for him as he was a very large dog. He sorta looked like a lion because of his disfiguring burns(he had like a mane and was that yellow lion color) Always had his tail wagging(what was left of it anyway!) He was so so sweet! I still wonder what happened to him. I have to avoid those events because i want them all! Can't have em tho cause my dh would trow me out into the street and then i'd be homeless(with a bunch of dogs!) too!:eek: |
