Vet visit went well... Well took Roxie to her new vet today, and we love this lady! And apparently other people do too , as her office was packed!! She said Roxie is heart worm negative, and had no worms. Gave her all appropriate shots, minus the lepto....Also got her rabies vaccine, and she instructed me to give her childrens benedryl every 8 hours, I am assuming for pain?? She also started Roxie on Sentinel for heartworm prevention and frontline of course. The only bad thing is that the people that had Roxie before me fed her soft food, so of course the vet recommended we get a dental done. Anyone had this done with their little ones before? Any suggestions? She said if I decide on the microchip they can do this then as well.. |
I'm so glad the checkup went well! After reading all the sad stories people have shared about pets with problems, I was beginning to wonder just how many yorkies DON'T have serious health issues. |

That's good news. I have Pixie's done every year as she had bad teeth and she has done great. I had Cali's done tho year at the age of 5 and even though she has some other health issues, she did great too. Last yea, I had to have all of Nikki, who was 14-15 at the time, teeth pulled as he was a rescue and the elderly lady who had him couldn't afford it. He was like a new dog after getting all those rotten teeth pulled. He also did great after surgery. |

My vet told me that it would cost around 90 bucks to get the dental done, does that sound about right? What happens if they get in there and have to pull or fill teeth, do they let you know first or just go ahead and do what needs to be done? Thanks. |
