Two Questions... I read somewhere that latex dental elastics work well in yorkie's hair; ouchless. They sell them in several sizes, any suggestions on the easiest to work with? Also, my new baby is coming home on Friday and I need to purchase a brush, what is the best type for yorkie hair? Thanks in advance for any help. :aimeeyork |
I use the smallest latex bands and the brush I found to be best in a natural boar bristle brush. |
Welcome to YT! I'm sorry I don't have any advice on hair bands, mine will have nothing to do with them ;) I do have 2 different type brushes, a boar bristled that Simon prefers and another that has smaller bristles for Hallie. |
I use those little plastic bands . They work really good. You can get them at the family dollar store. |
I use a soft slicker brush, and a flea comb. as far as the elastics go, my boyfriend won't let me give tigger a top knot so I'm sorry to say can't help you out there. |
I use them on Baby, hers aren't dental elastics....but i bought them at Meijer in the hair accessories section...my package came with all different sizes in pastel colors...I use all sizes...so try them all...congrats on your new baby...your life will never be the same! |
I buy packets of bands at the Dollar store too. I am sure they are cheaper than dental bands. And, they do not stick to the coat. My dogs pull each others hair pretties out in a few minutes.. |
Thanks for the great info...didn't realize I could pick them up @ the Dollar store! Thanks! |

Just wondering...how much do you pay at the Dollar store? I found a package of 100 (neon latex) for $1.75 plus S/H at www.jawproducts.com. I wondered if that is a good price, or can I do better? |
