I need opinions on this Missouri Proposition B please!! Please read this IN DETAIL before responding and after carefully considering this proposition tell me your opinions on whether it is reasonable and a good thing to support or not. I am currently in favor of this but there are a few things in the section about adequate space that might make this a little blown out of proportion. what do you guys think? SOS, Missouri - Elections: 2010 Approved Initiative Petitions Vote  or :thumbdown on your thread please. |
We live in MO and have been discussing this proposition some. I understand that there may be some good foundational thoughts behind the proposition BUT I have a problem with blanket legislation/regulations. I suppose I'm of the belief that it comes down to the heart of individuals....people ought to do the right thing without having some law to regulate them. I mean, if it takes a LAW to make someone treat an animal right, then their heart definitely isn't in the right place to begin with. I dunno...I don't want a law passed simply because it's more government regulation. BUT...there are alot of bad people in MO that need to be drummed out of the puppy mill business. SOoooo....I'm not sure what is exactly right. It's a tough call to be sure! |
I had typed up a Very long reply to you, and lost it. LOL Let me just say this: While I agree that change needs to be instituted to insure the quality of life for all living things, I think this proposition goes a bit far. When regulations are implemented that require care superior to that required by humans it has gone a bit far. I understand, in an ideal world all dogs would be cared for as family, but I have family members who have no air conditioning yet, and I am sure there are times it gets above 85 degrees farenheit in their home. |
I'm not in the area but I was just curious if the "adequate space" would exclude crating during the day then? It does seem like it's coming from good intentions, but it seems like it can be distorted for other purposes. |
