Clothes for Puppies Less than 6 mos. How do you keep little bitty ones warm in winter? Sabrina does fine in store-bought and onsesies, but I'm getting new baby girl in Dec., and she's gonna be little - is there anything that grows with them for while? (My dad suggested cutting a sock - may have to do that) LOL  Thank you |
I would ask Shanatink, she makes really cute things, I'm sure she can help you with a size. :) |
that's what I had to do with Tigger is cut socks, but thank heavens he's finally big enough for extra small shirts now. I would also talk to the shanatink I've heard a lot of good things about her. |
i know it sounds really funny, but cutting socks work very well. My tucker when we first got him at 3 months was 1 pound 7 ounces, and very tiny. All the dog clothing was to big for him, so we went out and bought thick socks with cute patterns on them and made him sweaters. No one even knew they were socks, and we got soooooooo many compliments, and it kept him very warm. he is now a week shy of 5 months and a few ounces over 3 pounds (he's very over weight, hee hee mommies piglet)and can still fit into most of the sock sweaters we made him. What you do is cut the bottom 2-3 inches off the sock off(or about an inch or 3 away from her tail), and leave the ribbing on the topof the sock on(you can fold that over later and it looks like a turtle kneck), then you lay it flat and cut to small holes for her little legs, and Wah Lah, a tiny sweater for a tiny girl.Hope everything works out for you, and congrads on the coming baby!!! |
You could also buy a little tank top or shirt from Petco. They are very inexpensive there. If you are going to sew and cut a sock... why not sew and cut a cute little shirt or something. I have taken in the sides before, when Laila was too small. There are also people on ebay who sell really tiny outfits - ebay is a great resource for reasonably priced attire. Good luck! |
