I found out last night a female from my very first litter was hit and killed by a car last night in NYC .The news saddens me so much ,i guess the grandmother was dog sitting and didnt realize she had gotten out by the time they found her a lady was holding her on the side of the road .
the family is taking it very hard I was wondering if anyone has ideas on a gift or gesture I can do for this family.

Now that sucks. I am sorry for all, especially for the dog. Accidents happen, but darn.....A sympathy card always helps. Time will help.

I am so sorry to hear this....when my first yorkie passed, a friend gave me a book called "Dog Heaven"....it's a children's book, but very appropriate. :animal-pa

Aw i am so sorry this happened. I know this might sound terrible but maybe when they feel ready you could offer them another puppy at a discounted price. Just a thought. My prayers are with this family :( xxx

when my fife died my friends all went in on food delivery for a week because they knew i was so devistated i didnt eat, i live alone so i didnt have anyone to cook for, and it was a super nice gesture, i didnt want visitors but i knew they were thinking of me

I am so very sorry to hear about this. :( My thoughts and prayers are with all. :love: Flowers/a card would certainly be a nice gesture. Like someone else said in time maybe a puppy at a discounted price, if that were something you were comfortable with. Rest in Peace, Brook-Lynn

I am so sorry to hear about this sad news. She was very special to her family, but also to you, too.

I agree with Mom to Hot Rod. A card with a hand-written note would be nice.

Maybe it's just me, but if I were to lose my pet and got an offer like this, I would be upset by it. It would feel like a sales ploy to me.

A hand written note would be nice. Maybe a plant or a donation to the Humane Society (or other organization) in the pup's name.

It kind of hit me hard last night I cant imagine the pain the family is going through.I sent them a email also talked to the ladies son who is 18 (he is just as devastated) he wanted to "buy" his mother another yorkie so she would stop feeling sad.I told him when the time is right i would def work on price but ultimately they all need to have a family conversation about bringing another yorkie into the family also they all need their time to grieve.

that's just dreadful, I'm a big sap and if I was the breeder I'd give them another dog, but I know it's a lot of work and not inexpensive raising a puppy

This forum brings so many people together. We all seem to feel the pain when a yorkie is taken beacause we all know how we feel about our own loved yorkies.
