Speak Up Against Inhumane Wild Horse Roundups you can sign the petition here: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takea...?z00m=19883735 In July, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) began rounding up more than 1,200 federally protected wild horses on public lands in Nevada. The use of helicopters to run terrified horses over miles of scorching desert resulted in serious injuries and the deaths of more than 20 horses. Unbelievably, the BLM plans to continue these summer roundups in spite of this disastrous outcome. Wild horse and burro champions Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) and Rep. Nick Rahall (D-WV) are currently circulating a letter among the members of the House of Representatives that will soon be sent to Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar. Tell your representatives to voice their support to protect wild horses by signing a letter urging Secretary Salazar to halt the current roundups along with any other pending gathers of wild horses. |

Thanks so much for posting this, Yen. I too have been following this issue and it makes me so sad -- what really ticks me off is that it's not even truly necessary and that the "round up" helicopters will chase Mares and their foals until they die of exhaustion . |
Signed. Thanks for making people aware!! |
