My YT Hates the Camera Any tips on how to get my YT to look at the camera? She won't do it even when we hold out a treat - and she loves her treats. Ever since she's been little she turns away from cameras, doesn't like remote controls, and is afraid of flashlights - anything electric. I have been trying to do a photo shoot every Sunday and I am getting no where. |
awe, she seems afraid of it! poor thing! Maybe you should let her check it out first to "get to know it* and then try!? |
Sometimes I think Neo is channeling Sean Penn! He hates to get his picture taken, and now this behavior is rubbing off on his little bro Connor! It just must be a "yorkie thing". If anybody comes up with any ideas, please pass them on!:p |
Jackson has been photogenic ever since he was a puppy, LOL. I think he just loves the camera BUT there are some things I do to get good pictures of him. For one, high value treats. Cheese, or hot dog, etc. He also knows commands, sit, stay, look at me, down, etc, so I can just tell him what to do and he does it. 'Look at me' or 'watch' is a command that I taught with the clicker. I'd sit in front of him with a treat and whenever he made eye contact with me, I clicked and he got a treat, and I would say 'watch!' I also got a DSLR camera so I'm more likely to get some good shots because of the no delay, but even with a regular camera, it's possible. :) |
Great info. I think I will try the watch command every day to see if I can get anywhere with that. She loves treats, so maybe that will work. You are really lucky yours likes the camera.... |
I too have problems getting a good picture. My problem is Shadow will not be still long enough. I finally got one yesterday, it's not great but much better than the others.:) |
I am working on the watch command and also having a daily photo shoot with her. Hope that will help... |
