Few Questions Hiya everyone Hope your all having a nice weekend :D Me and Poppy ahev spent the weekend bonding :D We have played all yesterday and then when tired we would snuggle up on the couch and go to sleep. Then we would play again  Its been a hard few days ;) haha. Anyway i have just a few questions for you all. 1. At what age should i start brushing her teeth, and how do i brush them? I have looked for a thread about it but cant seem to find one. 2. At what age should i start brushing her coat (i dont want it to get matted)? 3. What age can i start to put a little clip in her hair so she gets used to something being up there? 4. What age can i start to give her treats? 5. What age can i start to train her to 'sit' ect? Anyone got any tips? As i had so many questions i thought it would be best to post in this section. Hope someone can help me with a few of these. Thank you :D xxx |

Good luck, training these little ones is tough but really rewarding :D Sounds like you had an fantastic weekend with Poppy  |
Aw thank you so much :D xxxx |
Start Now! for all of them. with the treats just be careful of what you give her, and how much you give her... you don't want to over do it, also if she loves her kibble, use that for basic training and then have a "high reward" treat for when she's really good. For teeth brushing, I don't use a brush cause Harley's mouth is too small. I take a pea size glop on my finger, (Harley loves his toothpaste) so I make him sit (he thinks he's getting a treat), and I let him take a little lick, then I gently put one hand behind his head and use my finger to massage his gums and teeth as much as he'll tollerate. At I could only do it for like 10 seconds, I can get about 20-30 now. Traing sit, how to brush, and tolerate hair clips are all really important to do when they are young. The sooner they get used to those things the better. Also "Drop it" is the most important trick I taught Harley, while we're still not 100% with dropping it if I'm not touching it... he immediately drops any toys or not allowed objects if I get my hand on it and say "drop it". to teach this give them a toy, have a treat in one hand and take ahold of the toy in thier mouth, if you push back just a little tiny bit and say drop it, combined with showing her the treat, she'll learn to drop anything you touch. Good luck! |
Wow thats fantastic thank you so much. I cant wait to start teaching her tricks. She is 8weeks old i think she is ready for some teaching hehe! xxx |
