Training and other newbie concerns My baby girl, Gracie, is not too thrilled about going potty outside. I'll think she is done pooping but she saves the rest for the rug:confused: She also will snack on it if I'm too late to scoop it up:eek: Other than that she is a little dream. She entertains me all day and cuddles up all night ( no accidents at night, thank goodness) She has stopped hanging on for tug of war with my shoelaces and stays in the familyroom and kitchen even though she can fit through the gate so I know she is smart as a whip!!!! I tell her no to the gate and she knows to stay! She gets along great with my cavaliers. She'd like to rule the roost but understands who's boss in her little pack. Every time I look at her adorable face I smile from ear to ear:p |
My Zoey prefers to do her stuff on her pee pads. We stay outside for a long time and she will hold it until we get inside. If we go to the park she will pee and sometimes poop. I think it has to do with how you start them off the day you bring them home. Mine is almost 8 mos now so it's a little too late. Cherie |
Pee Pads Quote:
Gracie used pee pads at her breeder's house. She was using them here but decided the rug was better. Now she won't even use the when I sit with her in a confined area; the laundry room. She will still pee on them once in a while but poop is another story. Its a good thing she's soooo cute. |
Mine is really annoying, she poops on the couch  |
Zoey was pooping on a rug also. You must gate off that area or remove the rug. A dog trainer told me you must think in terms of a Great Dane doing what your little one is doing and that would change your outlook. Being adorable is no excuse. I have to tell myself all the time that she would not get away with whatever bad thing she is doing if she were not so cute and really big. Little tiny poops can be forgiven but that is not the way to train them. They need the same as big dogs. They just happen to be cuter than most dogs. :) |
