X-pens Ive been reading a lot of posts lately of people hear using Xpens, my question about them is how much room do they take, Im interested in getting one, just my house isnt very big!? need bed, toys, feed, and pee pee area to fit in it right? |
There are many different xpens to choose from. The ones I have are metal and adjustable in size and shape. When set up in a full square, they are 4 feet on each side, thus covering 16 square feet of floor space. |
You can get different sizes, or you could use a childrens play pen which again come in different sizes. |
The Xpen that I have has 8 pieces that are 24" wide each. I have it wrapped around the triangular bookshelf. This photo shows it somewhat. I now have it on the other side of the book shelf but more across the front of the bookshelves so it is not so deep. If that makes sense. lol You can configure it pretty much however you need to. I also have so that the pen is taken apart and the wall is actually part of the side so it gives me more gate length to use to make the pen bigger. You can open or take pieces out or add pieces to it. |
Wehn we got our puppy we went to a thrift store and bouhgt an almost new playpen for $10 and use it as needed. The only problem is she can climb the netting so we made a 1/4 in plywood cover with 2" holes for ventilation. Works great and she loves it (now). |
buy a babys play pen my sister gave me once for free and it was perfect! he was only in it up until he was 8 months and was able to just be kept in my room while i was gone. |
I use the Iris pens they are 3 ft square but i usually put 2 together they can be got from ebay |
how do you clean the baby pack and play's? |
I have the one that has eight 2 ft. mental panels. It can be made to fit a small carrier crate and a potty pad, or expanded all the way which gives plenty room to play. When I steam clean my floor I make it small but most of the time it is fully extended. You can make it into just about any shape that will work in the area you place it. |
My YT was able to climb up and over the x pen we had. I returned it to Pet Smart. I've been searching for a replacement ever since.:confused: |
