Hi there, I'm new here! Hi there! My name is Amanda, and I'm new to the forum. I currently live in New Jersey. I moved here last August from Florida for Graduate School. I had to leave my Chloe ("Chloe-bear") in Florida with my parents. :( She's a 14 year old yorkie who sometimes gets mistaken for a silky! I knew her old soul couldn't handle the move and I miss her every day. I plan to get a female, yorkie puppy in December, and have started reading books and the internet as this will be my first time raising a yorkie puppy by myself. I also will be on the look-out for breeders in the area. It's great to be here and I look forward to learning new things and getting to know you all. And of course, I can't wait to see pictures of all your adorable yorkies! :) -- Amanda |
First off, welcome! It's good to have you. :) I'm sorry you had to leave your baby in Florida. That's awful. I know she misses you! There are a lot of good resorces on this website that can help you find a good breeder, teach you what questions to ask and what to do once your baby is home. I'm currently dealing with an 11 week old who thinks that the world his his chew toy! Good luck in your search and keep us posted! |
Hello and Welcome to YT! Like MYBABYFYNNLIE indicate there is alot of great advise and help here. Sorry that you had to leave your Chloe behind, but the move would have been very hard on her. |
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE consider rescuing instead of going to a breeder. I recently adopted from here (Rescue Me Yorkie Rescue), and they are relatively close to you. One thing to consider - having a puppy is A LOT of work. If you're in grad school, it will be really hard to devote the time that a puppy needs. I got Vinnie when I was in grad school too, but he was already 2 years old and completely house trained. I could NEVER have managed a puppy with the schedule I had at the time. Please just consider that. There are SO MANY wonderful dogs available for adoption. I've rescued several dogs now and have found that rescues are so genuinely appreciative of a good home. |
Welcome to the group :) You made the right choice for your little one. It hard on them the older they get. |
Hi and welcome to YT. Sorry you had to leave Chloe with your parents but at least you know she is in good hands. :) Best of luck finding a new baby to love. |
