Which is a bigger jump... Hey Yall, Which is a bigger jump, which is more difficult? Going from 1 dog to 2, or 2 dogs to three? I have a shih tzu and a yorkie. And it hasn't been awful, just a little more work...and money, but its worth it. Is it easy to just add one more. I really want to add another yorkie to the mix next year. Haven't decided if I want a boy or a girl yet, but I can decide that later. At least I know where I'll get the little bugger, I've got a great breeder. Would love to know your thoughts. Thanks:D |
Well...my dad just adopted a siberian husky after we got Mango. It's not too different. We already had a pug, and Mango, my Yorkie! Having a third dog is just like having another friend in the house. Just another one to feed, take on walks, brag about (ha ha!), it's not hard though...3 dogs is even better than 2! |
I would think going from one to two is a bigger jump than going from two to three. I say go for it when you're ready! :) |

I loved having 3! It was my favorite number....then I jumped to 5 and last year I jumped to 8!!:eek: Don't do 8, just go to 3 and stay there!!:D |
What gender are the dogs in your home now? That might help you with your decision :) I like boy/girl combinations... I find my male to be more needy and affectionate while my female is more independent. |

Gees I hope you are independantly wealthly. what are you vet and pet insurance bills like, if you don't mind me asking |
Once you opend your door for a second one they just keep coming... LOL! We had only one for 10 years then got a second, then one went to rainbow bridge but we were so adjusted to two that we got another one... then two more... and another one... The last has the meaningful name Mylo like in MY Last One and we hope that helps... ;) |

the harder jump is from 1 to 2 hands down. i agree you should get a boy Gatsby is 1 1/2 and he is not neutered but he dose not mark in the house he will mark on every thing he come across outside and we did have some trouble in the pet store but he has since learned better and if you do get a boy and he dose start to mark before you get a chance to have him fixed you could always use belly bands |
I had no problems going from one to two or two to three. When I took the 4th,Nikki in it was an adjustment. I hadn't had a male in 30 years and he was a rescue/rehome. He has been marking some too. Also, he is very possessive of me and goes after my girls sometimes. So it has been a little harder. Three is really my limit. |
