** Introducing a New Yorkie Rescue ** 1 Attachment(s) For those that don’t know me, I am extremely passionate about Animal Rescue.…and obviously more specifically Yorkshire Terriers. So that’s why I am beyond excited to be a part of a new Long Island Yorkie Rescue, called Yorkie911 Rescue. We are still in the mid-phases of getting our logo and website totally complete. We have submitted our required information and now we are just awaiting our Non-Profit 501(c)3 status approval. And of course a whole bunch of other on-going rescue related and fundraising stuff. Unfortunately though, we simply can’t wait for everything to be 100% complete, because the Yorkies are coming in and they are coming in fast. We currently have 5 Yorkies in our foster care right now, and a 6th, 7th and maybe 8th is on its way! We Urgently Need More Foster Families (New York AND New Jersey) If this is something of interest to you or you want more information on what this entails, please contact me and I will set you up through the foster care process to see if your family would be an ideal match to one of our pups to take in temporarily until adopted. Please pass along our attached Flyer to anyone you know that may also be interested. Or maybe you’d like to permanently adopt one of our Yorkie pups into your family. You can view them at our website Welcome to Yorkie911 Rescue, Inc. (remember we are still under some construction). We have two events coming up, so if you are in the area, please stop by and say hello :) LI Pet Expo ~ Saturday September 18th and Sunday September 19th at Tanner Park, Copaigue NY 24th Annual Bellmore Family Street Festival ~ Saturday October 2nd and Sunday October 3rd near Train Station Bellmore NY We are a 100% Non-Profit and a 100% Volunteer based Yorkie Rescue, so if you can help us rescue a Yorkie in any way, whether it be donations that go towards being able to rescue and transport our pups, towards any standard and/or emergency Veterinary medical needs and towards the foster care of the pups. And/or Volunteering your time and talents is greatly appreciated. |
Oh my gosh! That is awesome! What a great thing to do. I will love to help if I can. Duffy is adorable. It just says he'd get along well with female dogs though, does he not get along with males? Thanks for doing this for Yorkies! That is awesome! |
That is great, and wish you the best. Hope you get a lot of Foster parents and helpers. Such a great thing to do. |

Duffy is a cutie pie. I am not sure about the female and male part. Do you want me to find out from his foster Mom? |
This is fantastic! Oh I wish I lived in the NY area, I would love to help out. I will definitely try to fit donations into my budget for you all! Thanks for starting such a fantastic operation. |
What a great thing to do! I'm very excited for you, and wish you the best of luck in your upcoming ventures! |
Oh Nicole, this is so you! Congratulations. :) |
I look forward to donating to your very worthy cause:) |
Great Job! Wishing you all much success in your continuing endeavor! Wow! :D |
Bless you all, there are never enough rescues. |
Thank you everyone for all the well wishes for a successful Yorkie Rescue, I will pass them on to our rescue group! The Gals that started the rescue are truly special, and I am so proud to be giving my support and help to them :) I have always admired the rescue people and to now have a local Yorkie Rescue that I can be a part of is so exciting to me :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa |
Congratulations and best wishes for your new rescue. Thank you for what you do. |
Congratulations and thank you for all the work you are about to do. |
Good luck!!! It's a lot of work, but SO worth it! :) I am happy to see a group in that area! :) |
How exciting, CONGRATS!!!! So happy for the yorkies who will be helped :). |
I wish you all the success possible for your new rescue and look forward to hearing about more of your rescues! :congrats: |
Noone can say thank you enough! This is a very dedicated undertaking and I applaud you and your friends. The 503c rescue I work with, Panhandle Animal Lovers, Crestview, Fl. (you can check them out at www.PAL2006.petfinder.com,) has gotten at least 4 REALLY fine Yorkies in the last few weeks. Thankfully each has either been adopted forever or (2) are in great foster homes which will probably turn permanent. We have one traumitized 2 year old female that constantly 'dribbles'. We are taking every approach to find a cause. To others reading this comment: Every $ donated counts when you consider these rough figure: $5 can vaccinate for rabies through a participating Vet $10 buys 15 # of healthy food and will feed 5 dogs for about 20 days, $35 buys liquid oral heart worm meds to treat 5 dogs for 12 months or more when administered by facility volunteers. So, again, every $ counts. I wish you all great things. Life is about to change for you and your charges. Hopefully you will attract an obedience trainer willing to spend a few precious hours each week helping your rescues cope with their new environment. I can' tell you how great I feel when I can calm an abused, frightened and overly anxious dog and help him accept his new surroundings. I am the one blessed when that happens! Thank you so much and all the best to you. |
Our rescue had it's first adoption YAY!!! Duffy went to a wonderful home! We are getting 7 puppymill dogs later this week. Please visit our site for information on Adoptions, Donations and Fostering :) We need all the help we can get :animal-pa |
