Is this a stage or new fear, or what?? For the last 2-3 weeks,, Bailey acts like he cant jump UP on anything, things he has jumped up a thousand times.. he has NO problem getting down,or occasionally getting up.. he does this.. GOnna jump thing like 10 times, until I go pick him up and put him where he wants to be... Im sure its not a knee thing or pain.. I think its more about Attention. ANyone elses Yorkie do this, my boss says his 2 do it also. |
I was trying to remember if Muffin did that and I think she did once in awhile. They like to be babied! :D Maybe he just has trouble once in awhile, though. I kinda thought that about Muffin sometimes. Maybe the springs just get tired in their little legs. :D |
Jo is almost 11 months old and he's doing the same thing. He's jumped on the couch with no trouble since he was about 5 months old and all of a sudden he just can't make it without help from Mom. I think bringing Riley home changed some of Jo's behaviors and sometimes he wants a little extra time and attention. |
Luigi does that every soo often!!!!! For some odd reason whenever he has a toy in his mouth, he refuses to jump up on anything that he would normally jump up on! Such as tha couch or the bed!!! Makes me laugh!!!! And he will not go up the steps while he is carrying a toy!!!! He will whine and whine til you pick him up and carry him up the stairs while he has a toy in his mouth!!!!! Or pick him up and put him on the couch with his toy!!! They sure are stubborn arent they!!!! ahah!!!!! |
My Little girl did the same thing but was afraid to jump down from things that she had always jumped down from before. I think she may have got hurt jumping down and I didnt see her. It took her a long time before she would try again. Now Mickey has a real hard time jumping up on the couch It takes him many many trys and he will not let me help him at all. lol |
Both of my girls do that. We (my hubby) made ramps for them for the couch and the bed, and they still need to be majorly encouraged to go up them. It's a crack up.....they just want the extra attention. lol :p |
I don't know...I really try to not let mine jump up and down too much because they are so little and they can develop arthritis as they age from too much stresson their joints and all. I was told not to let tthem jump onto or off anything higher than their shoulder. I have "steps" to all the furniture they are allowed on. I think this is a safe practice. Good luck. |

Princess will do that when she wants attention. I thought something was wrong, but the vet said she was just fine and only wanted attention. He checked her knee's hips and joints. Only found a very happy spoild Yorkie. :D :D :D :D :D |
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with this problem, I do think its an attention thing.. cause If I'm not in the room, he has NO problem getting up, he only does it when I'm around..... I guess it just means they NEED us... ahhhh! :D |
