My daughter is a neroutic furbaby mom So we got Paris for our 7 year old (don't scream we realized we were making a hugh commitment) she is a more neurotic mom then I was with my children (I was extremely neurotic) Yesterday we took Paris in for her check up and to be microchip-ed. She about had a fit and said she had a few questions for the doctor. Thankfully the doctor is very patient. She asked all her questions then she asked"to examine the microchip before they inserted it into her so she could make sure she knew what they were putting in her" Obviously they could not show her the actual microchip but did show her an example. Then she wanted to see the needle etc. Well the needle is bigger than I even thought. Then it was time, we let the vet tech hold Paris while they did it when Paris yelped she cried is was so sad. We have had a long talk about yes it was hard but sometimes you have to do hard things because they are what is best. God help me when she has a actually child! I think I will have to warn he future husband! |
LOL I know the feeling, my pup is my baby and I nearly cried when she had her needles.. the sound of her yelping broke my heart. :( |
Mia needs to be chipped I thought I would get it done when they do her special surgery and remove the extra teeth... I have a laundry list because I don't want her to be awake for it. Between Mia and my daughter crying when they did it wouldn't be good. Jenna sadly will be very demanding as a mom. So neurotic may not be so bad!......Daughters and Yorkies are just the best! |
The neurotic fur motherness may be a blessing 7+ years from now when boys start showing up! I used to be like that with my horses, and I'm pretty sure I told my first boyfriend if my horse didn't like him I was going to dumb him! It sounds like your baby is growing up and learning lots about responsibility. When I was that age I wanted a horse, and my mother got me one if I paid for half of it. She used this whole thing to teach me to care for animals, how to raise money to pay for things and A LOT about responsibility. Speaking from experience I hated my mom at the time for making me take on a lot of responsibility, but I've been a very successful young entrepreneur ever since! it's taught me a lot of useful things and while my mother annoyed me when I was younger (but then again who's doesn't) She did teach me a lot of valuable lessons. It sounds like you have a wonderful daughter, I recommend using Paris to teach her alot about responsibility, she will thank you later. It also sounds like this is one of the exceptions where a puppy for a young person is a GREAT idea! |
Well, this just proves that Yorkies can be wonderful pets for some small children:love: It depends on the child, and the parents, and it sounds like you've got a great little caring Mommy there:D Keep up the good work:) |
Your daughter sounds like a vet in training:) |

Aw how cute! She is looking after her furbaby :D Well done :D xxx |
What a good furmomma! |
I'm impressed with your daughter! At seven, I didn't have a clue about anything to do with veterinary procedures. She must be a bright, very caring child. I hope you're proud of her and I hope she knows it. |
I think that's awesome. She's clearly interested in her dog's well-being and this is a great way to get her engaged in the responsibility that it requires to properly care for a dog. IMO, children are never too young for some sort of responsibility, and she definitely sounds ready! Use it to your advantage! Are there are good books out there about caring for dogs aimed at children? |
My daughter is the same way she is the keeper of all critters great and small, Dogs, cats and horses. All the animals love her. She is most likely going to go to K-STATE in KS her cousin who is a vet in St. Louis wants her to go MO.. Who knows. Nebraska does not have a vet school believe it or not! |
