yes, karo works, but you don't want to give too much, or you'll end up w/loose stools... |
My vet said to use Karo syrup...just rub a little bit on her gums if needed. |
If you live in a cold area, it would be a good idea to buy a heated bed/pad or one of those that you just pop in the microwave to warm. I always put one in my puppy's playpen with enough space for her to move away if it is too warm. A warm jersey or coat might also be a good idea - you never know when it's going to be cold. Chew toys and small treats are also important. Treat balls are great intelligence toys which keep them busy for hours. Chew toys, like ostrich sinews, bully sticks, etc. to keep the puppy from chewing everything else. If you are planning to train your puppy (every puppy should be trained), start looking into local trainers, etc. Learning clicker training will make training a lot easier. Decide on a potty spot for the puppy. Always take the puppy to the same spot. Look into local groomers or are you planning to groom the puppy yourself? If so, you'll need dog nail clippers, a face comb, a blowdryer if you don't already have one, on top of what the other posters mentioned. A kong and stuffing or peanut butter. A good probiotic for diet changes... |
