Maybe I am completely not knowing what I am talking about lol but what about a liver chew? Instead of taking DenaMarin everyday, UT approved of these chews for my Ginger to take (who has MVD). Would these be appropriate as well instead of just Marin?

Since it allows 1 chew per 30 pounds, I give Ginger 1/6 of a chew.... maybe I am just missing the mark? lol

I believe it's not safe to give any dog prone to having seizures anything with Rosemary/ Rosemary extract in it. May want to check with the vet first.

Dr. Sharon Center specifically recommended Marin to a member on another forum for her Maltese with MVD.

"I had been giving him Milk Thistle, the kind you get at GNC, but in a conversation with Dr. Center from Cornell, she said unless it had silibinun, it was useless. She recommended Marin (which you can order from Entirely Pets.)."

I looked it up and apparently Silibinin(silybin) is the major active ingredient in Silimarin.

Marin is silybin, but most of the other milk thistle you can buy is only Silimarin.

I have been following your post on Max and was thrilled to see him at home playing...what a lovely video of the two of them.

Glad Max is back home. :) He's a cutie pie.

Thank you everyone. Max seems to be doing fine. He had 1 small episode when he woke up to go potty at 3am. It'll probably take a couple of days for the meds to really start working. He seems great otherwise. Cooper is so very happy his playmate is home. And, so are we.

I'm so glad that Max is home and everything seems to be going well! Esp that his condition is treatable! That's such great news!
