I should have named her Houdini Jamie is an escape artist. If I leave her harness on for any length of time, she somehow manages to get it off. I have watched her do this. First she puts the front strap part in her mouth, and then she manipulates it until she can move the back part over her shoulder. Then she presses on the clasp with her teeth until the clasp opens. Then she smiles at you since she is so proud of what she has done. She has done it with three different harnesses including the puppia. Amazing. These yorkies are just so smart and so cute! |
HAHAHAHA! you just made my day! Harley should have been named Taz for Tazmainian Devil! He tears around the apartment and gets into EVERYTHING. I agree they are WAY too smart some times... that's why we love them eh? The best part is... I have a 3ft baby gate for him... and I can now see his head when he jumps, soon he'll be over it and he's only 3lbs. |
LOL clever pooch :) You could try her with one of the little t-shirts or dresses that have the loop on to attach the lead? I would be amazed if she got out of that! |

I simply love that nowhere in your post do you say " this is driving me crazy". I even love that you think it's cute, because I think it's so adorable that I'd like to see a video of it. I realize they have to be outsmarted for their own safety but at the same time....ya gotta appreciate the darn orgininality of their tactics. I teach behavior modification to young parents of little ones who are in need of some boundaries and then I come home and pour over my dog books in order to somehow, someway, keep from becoming "Ponnochio" and my darling Yorkie from becoming my "Geppeto". |
