Miloh gets neutered on Friday
 
Hello YT Members!
Miloh goes in for neutering on Friday morning and won't come home till Saturday. :( I feel terrible, I know this is the right thing to do but can't help bare the thought of him going through pain. He will also get microchipped that same day as well. I already got Miloh his Kiss E Cone Collar (thanks to Mom to Hot Rod) but was wondering if there's anything else I should have ready for the day my little man comes home. Thanks in advance!

Rocco too!! He will be home later the same day though. Best wishes to you and Miloh (I know that I'm already a wreck :()

They won't let you take him home the same day?
If they won't, make sure that there is someone on duty that night. I would hate to think a vet would keep Kaji and then have no one there. He would go crazy!!!!

The only other thing you need is to prepare a quiet place for him. Your toughest assignment after neuter is keeping them calm and quiet when all they want to do is run and play. Keep him in a pen, or crate. If you could be there to keep him quiet all day and night for a few days, that would be great for him. Otherwise, keep him crated or penned up. Sucks, but you don't want to risk him hurting himself.

I'll keep both Miloh and Rocco in my prayers for a safe uneventful day.

Bailee was recently neutered. We too felt awful about it and we were so happy when it was over. Our vet prefers to keep them overnight, but we took Bailee home the same day. He was sleepy, but was home with us. Yes, keeping them quiet is the hardest part of the recovery. Bailee also had baby teeth removed. Prayers for Miloh and Rocco!

Max was neutered today,and he also had baby teeth removed.Poor little guy has to wear a cone for at least 3 days.:(

Rhett got neutered today, too. He's not that interested in eating this evening, but I have been able to get him to drink some chicken broth. I'd just recommend having a variety of things to try and tempt him with in case Milo is fussy.

I think it's harder on us than it is on them :( Keoki was neutered, baby teeth out and microchipped all at once. I agree with DvshlAngel why does your baby have to stay over night and will there be someone there all night? He will be running around in a day or 2- a soft collar is so helpful! But seriously they are better in no time!!! Keep us posted!!! I hope all the other furbabies feel better soon!

Thanks DvlshAngel985! I called the Animal clinic a few minutes ago and they said they don't have a vet tech on duty overnight. The receptionist said I can take Miloh home the same day but they usually advice he stays overnight to make sure he gets his rest. I rather bring him home than have a sleepless night. I will certainly keep him crated, I am sure he will be up and running in less than a day. Thanks for all your advice!

Yah they kept my dog Maya for three days. The day before, the day of the the surgery, and the day after to recover. I went crazy without her.

That alone would have made me crazy all night! As long as you know where the closest ER vet is, just in case something were to happen when Miloh is home (which I'm sure is not gonna happen), I think he'd be better off at home. You can monitor him yourself. You know your baby and you can tell when something is wrong, then get him the help he needs. You'll probably put up with some cries and whimpers because he won't understand why he can't run around like he does everyday. It's for his own good.

Best wishes for you and Miloh. Make sure that you talk without vet about any pain meds. Hot Rod had a bunch of teeth removed at the same time. Looking back I wish I would've insisted on pain meds for him. After a couple of days he was rearing to go though and definitely kept us on toes. Lol

Miloh will be stylin' in his Kiss-E Collar. Thanks again! :)
