One step forward and one step back. Well my little Brooklynn learned very fast to potty on the training pads in like 3 days. However today, she continues to poop on the carpet like three times straight. Usually im here to assist her if she needs to but i had food shopping to do and i left her with the daughter and fiance. Are they just mistakes or have she untrained herself that quick. How do i get her going to the training pad again? |
Is she running free while you are gone? If so, you might want to consider using an x-pen or a bathroom for when you can't watch her every minute. |
I think it takes time and continuous training. I read once that a puppy should go at least 30 consecutive days accident-free before you can really consider them "potty trained". When we were training our two yorkies I would counti the days...They would go 5, 10, 20 days and have an accident, then it was back to square one. Continue to be consistent with your training, and good luck getting to 30+ days  |
Could she be a poo-walker? Gracie Ruth & Yogi both walk around a little as they poop. " MOMMA! Don'tz tellz peoplez on da interwebz dat wez dooz dat!" Sorry kids. :p They start out on the pads, but usually end up off the pad by the time they are done. So if I didn't know better, I'd think they'd poo'd on the floor on purpose. I agree with Rhetts Mama, containment while you're away would be the best thing right now. |
Thank you ladies Im keep being Brooklynn's number one fan so she can get back on track. But Im going to purchase this playpen for her so she can have some support even when im not around. Im so glad i joined this website because the support is needed. My first dog and i just want to help her anyway i can. |
We bought some Wee Wee Housebreaking aid from Petco. Just bought some Nature's Miracle from PetSmart. A couple sprays of Wee on the pad, in center helps. Has for Penny. She is 10 months old now. Have not tried NM. yet. |
I got really luck with Rizzo, we have only had 3 poo accidents in the house, he still has a pee accident now and then when at the bf's but thats about it. Good luck with the containment and the pee pads, I hope it all works out for you guys, these little ones can be so difficult! |
Im having this problem too. Poppy was really good on her pads at the beginning but I didnt allow her as much room to play when she was smaller. When she is alone she is in her pen in my bedroom, I have wood floor in there and she never has an accident and always keeps it on the pad. But I think when we are playing downstairs where there is carpet maybe she finds it harder to tell what is pad and what is not. Im going to start putting the pad in the kitchen where there is wood floor, hope this helps :) |
When no one is watching her, then she needs to be confined, such as to an x-pen with pads. She may also not want to poo on pads where she pees.:D |
UPDATE on Brooklynn potty habits MY baby girl Brooklynn Kouture is back on the pad YEAAAAAAA thats mommy girl! No accidents so far. She makes it her business to get out of her bed and use her bathroom. However, Rachael i think what you was saying is right because most of my house is carpeted but i notice that she tends to poop more on the carpet then the tile floor. |
