Rhett's going to get "tutored" tomorrow D day is upon us. Rhett is 6.5 months and has lost all his baby teeth, so it's time. He'll go in tomorrow morning and have his pre-op blood work done and then his surgery around noon. The plan is to keep him over night (they do have a vet tech there all night) and release him in the morning. He'll also get microchipped while he is under anesthesia. I know he will be in good hands, but I'm still nervous. Keeping him quiet for the next 10 days will be difficult with Scarlett. Evidently though, all my "spay and neuter your pets" talk has sunk in to my 10 year old. I over heard her talking to her friend yesterday on the porch telling them that "tutored" dogs are healthier, better behaved, etc. ;) |
Keeping good thoughts for Rhett's tutor tomorrow. It's nice to know the kids are listening and learning. They are our hope for the future. |
Hope all goes well tomorrow with the "tutoring"! |
too cute. will be sending good thoughts and prayers all goes well. :) |
Aww, I'm sure he'll do fine, he'll be in good hands. And good for him for losing all of his baby teeth, one less thing to recover from. |
"Tutored" -- adorable! Best wishes to Rhett for a successful tutoring and quick recovery. :) |
Good luck with your "tutor," Rhett!! :) |
Good luck with Rhett and his "tutoring" lol. My Bronx just got tutored 2.5 weeks ago and it wasn't near as bad as I thought! the first day is rough because he was so groggy, but you won't have to worry about that because he is staying there all night. After that, he was back to his normal self! He wore the E-collar and very quickly adjusted to it. It deterred him from doing his normal things which was good because he had to be kept quiet for 10 days anyway. That was tough though, he was ready to run and jump but we just tried to avoid walking or playing with him. By the end of day 8 or 9 he was like, enough is enough I need to play! Good luck and my thoughts will be with you. |
Aww. Best wishes to Rhett for a successful and uneventful surgery. I feel guilty every time I send one of mine in for spay and neuter ~ even though I know it's the right thing to do. It's still scary and you don't want them to be in pain. Hang in there mama! |
Awww! Good luck, Rhett! :) |
good luck on the tutor...it's funny because the lady from the shelter we work with always says tutor and this is the first person other than her that's used that word instead LOL |
Sending prayers for Rhett's tutor today. Sounds like you have a very smart, wonderful daughter. :) |
Thinking about Rhett today during his tutor! :aimeeyork |
Hope all goes well with the "tutoring" :) Poppy sends Rhett puppy kisses! |
I'm sure he'll be fine. I know how scarey it is though. |
Best wishes to Rhett. Hope all goes well and that his experience with "tutoring" goes well and doesn't take too long to recover from. ;) |

I've got my boy back! He's sleepy, but did very well with his surgery. The vets office called and said we could pick him up if we wanted or they could keep him over night, it was our call. We rushed down there- I missed my boy. The incision looks great. He's already had a little bit to drink at the office and had no problems keeping it down. I can start feeding him in a few hours. He's had a pain shot, so he's pretty sleepy right now- though he perked up when they brought him around the corner and he saw us. His blood work was absolutely normal, so that's another weight off my mind. I'm glad to have everyone at home. I'm just going to go watch him sleep for a while :) |
Yay! I'm so glad everything went well, and he's back home with you! The biggest challenge now will be convincing him to limit his activity for the next two weeks. :) |
Wonderful news! :) |
