Yoni's favourite pastime..... .....is trying to eat my ferrets. Seriously. We introduced him to them on day one. He chased them, they chased him. All was good and adorable. Then he made one of them squeal. Now I am terrified to let them around each other. When I show one of them to him, he snaps at its face. He will go over to their cage and visit them, licking them through the bars. It's cute. But when they are out of the cage, it's like he actually wants to hurt them. How can I change this? Will it EVER be safe to allow them to play? **edit** Ferrets are VERY good at defending themselves, so people have told me that my ferrets could probably do more damage to Yoni than he could do to them. It's true that Yoni looks like a harmless puppy, but he could probably break their neck instantly. Especially Virtute, who is very tiny. **end edit** |
Yorkies were origionally bred to be 'ratters' to catch rats down the mines in yorkshire in england :) So it is natural for him to act this way. Most terriers will display this behaviour at some point but yorkies more them most. I dont know if you can stop him from doing it seen as its natural to him. A more experienced member will be able to help you more but I would advise you to seperate them. |
