Just joined today 7/28/2010 :aimeeyork Hi and hope everyone can help me with my beautiful yet fussy to eat Yorkie named Tulip. Changed to Canidae from Nutra Natural Choices Small Bits and nothing doing. Fussy little :aimeeyork:animal-pa |
Hi and welcome. I've never had problems getting mine to eat. They are true piglets, but I home cook, always have. ;) |
Bailey was a picky eater until we switched to homemade raw when she was 8 mos old. She loves her food and she also is a little piglet. When she was younger, I couldn't get her to eat kibble or canned food. I tried topings, broth, everything and nothing worked. I finally took my mom's good advice and now serve a balanced diet which includes raw hamburger, turkey and/or venison, cottage cheese, eggs, vegetables, sardines and rice. Lots of posts on this site about picky eaters. Welcome to YT! |
I'd try some of the toppings mentioned; cooked carrots; green beans; cottage cheese; yogurt; eggs or a little mixing of canned food - coating all the kibbles so she still has to eat the kibble. |
Hello & Welcome... |
Hello and welcome to YT.... Sorry I don't have any advice on food I'm still trying to find something my 3 will agree on.. |
Welcome to you and Tulip (what a cute name)! |
Hi and welcome to YT. |
First off, welcome to YT! Was she eating the Canidae regularly before you switched foods? Some pooches can be very picky when it comes to food. I would suggest continue feeding her the Canidae (if she was eating it) and gradually switching her to the new food...slowly change the ratio of the old to the new. :) |
Welcome to you and Tulip:) |

Hi, and Welcome to YT. |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk! I don't have my puppy yet but everything I've read about switching their food says to do the slow transition. 75/25. 50/50. 25/75. So on and so forth. :) Good luck finding Tulip something she likes! (I have this problem with my Maine Coon, fussiest ball of fluff you ever did see.) |
No she was not and my mom tried chicken liver with the Canedia. She ate today and we wait for tomorrow. Are you able to see her picture? |
