Hi I'm new here! :animal36 I have been a Yorkie lover all my adult life and still have four yorkies, Sidney, Sophie, Cooper and Mya. Mya was a puppy mill rescue and is doing very well. My oldest is Sidney, he's 13. Cooper is 1 1/2 and under 3 pounds and Sophie is 7. I also have another "people didn't want anymore so we adopted him dog" named Moses. I have been having some issues with Sophie. After being in the Vet Hospital I was told she has pancreatitis/colitis which I know is commom in Yorkies. She seems fine now but has very soft stool. I need some good receipies for to help her digestion. Thanks, KAP |

Welcome to YT! When Pixie has an attack of pancreatitis, we were told by our vet to give her boiled rice mixed with Chicken. She was 5 months old when that happen and she is now almost 2 years. That seem to help the stool problem. but look in the Yorkie health and diet area of the Yorkie form. I hope that helps. |
Hi - Welcome to YT - I can't wait to see pictures of your "fur-family"! |
Welcome to YT and hugs to Sophie and the gang!! We had a pancreatic attack last year. After the overnight vet visit - I served chicken and rice (50/50) for a week, then slowly worked in her regular food (homemade raw) over the next two weeks. I don't believe that chicken and rice is a long term solution for a chronic situation; but if yours is a one-time episode, it can help your baby recover until the stomach settles back down. If you need a long-term solution, then someone else is gonna have to pitch in. :) Low-fat and small portions are the key. Good luck! |
