We survived Hurricane Wilma I haven't been able to post until today, we finally got power up in our office, it's still off at the house tho  We are in Port St Lucie, FL and we were expecting a category 1 hurricane and ended up with a high 2! Pita did great thro the whole thing, she was a lil upset that she couldn't go outside tho. So things are good here, not tooo much damage, the hardest thing is keeping Pita out of the water in the yard as I have no way to bathe her if she gets really muddy! |
Glad to hear you are ok! This storm was much more than most expected- for sure. In orlando we had 74 mile per hour winds..I have a friend in Port St.Lucie and they have no power or phones also! Glad your baby was a little trooper!! |
GOOD for you - I know it had to be pretty scary there with the wind blowing - it's an awful sound - Glad you're ok !!! |
Glad to hear you made it through the storm. Any idea when you'll have power again? It's awful with no power. |
Glad you guys were okay!! My parents got stuck in miami during the hurricane but they ended up driving to orlando on tuesday to catch a flight home!! they said it was so horrible!! there was no electricity or food anywhere!!! |
Glad all is well....We will keep yall in our prayers! |
So glad to hear your OK!!!!! From what we saw on the news that was one big storm! We will keep all of you in our thoughts & prayers. |
glad your ok, my parents are down there right now, they went for 2 weeks and wound up in the hurricane.. they still have no power. she just told me right now the whole complex is having a hurricane breakfast outside |
It sucks without power, we are on well water also so we don't have water either. I would think we will be back up by the weekend. Hurricanes suck! We have been hit 3 times in 13 months. We didn't have our shutters on, so we watched it and you can't believe the power of these storms! It's just so scary. Pita had no clue to be scared so she was ok with it. We have our windows open so she can hear all of the outside noises she's not used to so she is barking alot more! Thank goodness we have a cool spell now, so at least it's not hot and steamy like last year after the storms. There's very little gas, limited food and very few businesses are running at full capacity. We had so much damage last year that alot of the city has new roofs and the vegetation was cleared by the storms then too. So this year the damage wasn't as severe. |
Glad to hear you all are ok. Hurricanes do suck! Still not back to normal from Rita. Took almost 3 weeks for me to get electricity, phone and I still don't have cable. But was lucky to have a house to come home to. |
So glad to hear your doing well, from what could of been. We have friends in Golden Beach do u know if they were hit hard? Pita is a little trooper. |
Glad to know that our Florida members are checking in and are okay. If your area has been declared a disaster area by the feds, you can purchase a generator (if you can find one) and file a fema claim for it to be reimbursed to you. Our generator went out after Katrina and fema reimbursed us for our purchase of a new one. We didn't get any other fema money because we didn't have any damage -- just no electricity. Lisa |
Glad to hear you are ok. Keeping you all in my prayers. |
I hear ya on that one..I didn't lose power from Wilma but we had bad weather all day from it here in Orlando. Im glad to hear you and your baby are ok. Kelsey didn't like the not being able to go outside and potty thing either! lol :p |
we were thinking of you and pita during the storm! im glad to hear you all are ok! up here in orlando we didnt get much damage..just a day off of schooL! we are also enjoying the cold weather! maisy and i both love it! |
Wow! Glad to hear you guys are okay. :) We live in Naples, FL and this place got hit with category 3 winds (120mph sustained winds)! Thank goodness we evacuated Friday before the storm hit on Sun/Mon, but my parents did stay here and they said it was pretty scary. We just came back here yesterday and we still have no power and no water at our house because we have a well. I'm at work right now and we do have power and water here but there are trees uprooted and snapped in half all over the place and a lot of the stoplights aren't even working yet. A lot of people's phone lines aren't working either. There was damage to people's houses and flooding over by where I live. Also, they said it could be Nov. 14th before everyone gets their power back! The courts and the schools are closed until Monday and there's a city curfew. I hope everything gets back to normal around here soon. |
I'm so glad you and yours weathered the storm with minimal damage to your property! I have never been in a hurricane and know I'd be scared to death! Hope you get power to your home really soon!!! |
We got power yesterday!! YAY! So we are back to normal. Thank you again for all the well wishes! I'm not sure about Golden Beach, I don't even know where it is.. Sorry! The good news is it's nice and cool! Pita has her fuzzy sweater on! |
I am so glad that you are ok... |
I'm so happy you guys are alright! stay safe! :) |
So happy to hear you guys are ok and safe. My nephew and family lives in Port St. Lucie also and we haven't heard from them. They must have been without facilities also all this time. Gonna try to contact them today. Those storms are terrible to ride out, I don't think I could go thru it. Hope they have stopped for a while. Floridians are taking a bad beating lately. |
So Glad you are o.k... It seem to have gotten so bad in the last several years. I use to visit my mom in St. Pete when she was alive back in 1990. I loved it down there. I use to think I want to live in flordia, but not any more. Not with so many hurricanes, I be scared to death. |
