Sooo true!!! :p |
Zoomies!!!! LOL So cute, guess what???? I don't think they ever out grow it, my little guy is 3 yrs old and shows NO sign of slowing down. Morning noon or night time. Run, play, tease, chase, most of these are with me, then the quickie nap, bite to eat, the repeat, run, play, etc. No amount of walking, going in the car, or visitors, really changes the energy level. Only drugs, when he was sick with the really bad allergies (benedryl) and I stopped that as soon as I could. I think it's part of the "charm" of the dog, the energy. Also, personally I think Sprocket is teasing me, I swear he's laughing at me, although it comes out yip, yip, yip, showing his teeth. I know, I know crazy dog lady. But I'm sure! In the evening, DH the dog's favorite "dog toy" plays with him with the little lazer light toy, the cat type, and Sprocket will chase it til he falls down tired, DH falls over laughing too. This is a winner, 2 for 1 in the amusements. LOL zoomies, enjoy, they are so much fun.:animal-pa |

Max is still tireless -- didn't mean to make it sound like he is a couch potato. He just doesn't get the zoomies like he did when he was a kid. ;) |
I so agree. Pixie is 2 years old and she is non stop from 7p to 10p. Ball, throw, catch, repeat. Or bunnie throw, catch, repeat. Then it will be tease the cat to see if she'll chase her. Princess the cat is 9 1/2 years old. But, no luck so back to the HUMANS and get them to play with me. This is every night. ZOOMIES. I like that name for the Yorkies. |
We call it 'Cracker Dog' at our house, as they have definitely 'cracked'. After baths, being put up on the bed midday, and when Mommie gets on the floor to exercise, can trigger it. The cat goes crackers in the morning, usually right before everyone wakes up. Sounds like an elephant running through the house. Then the nails screeching across the floor when he tries to stop. And the dull thud when he can't stop. Then up and running again! and again and again!:D |
Dante is just 4 months old, so obviously this is quite normal. And it would just be funny, except that the two older, bigger dogs could hurt him when they get excited by it - and just when I wanted to be "off" for a couple of hours before bed, I'm called on for greater vigilance! Like others, I haven't seen that a 4 mile walk, or 30 minutes of fetch in the yard, reduce this tendency at all. But Dante does seem to flip the off switch earlier - around 8:30pm - than others. If he kept it up until 10pm, I'd be bonkers! (Of course, we're usually up around 6am!) |
