Sibling for Cooper? As some of you may know, I've been interested in getting Cooper a sibling. It doesn't see as though I will be rescuing my friend's dog, Jackson, as he may go live with her grandmother when the time comes. I was referred by a YT member to a reputable breeder who lives about 40 minutes from me. I was referred to her about 4 months ago but the timing was off. Now the timing is on (i think). I emailed her and she happens to have just what I'm looking for! I think I'm going to visit her this week and meet the 3 puppies that she has available. I have a long list of questions to ask, thanks to YT. I am very excited!! :bananna: |
Good luck and hope it all works out and Cooper gets a brother or sister. :) |

That's AWESOME! I'm sure Cooper would love to have a new little friend to play with. :D Good luck!! |
What fun! I hope you find the perfect companion! |
Good luck with your search. You're a lucky boy, Cooper! |
Keeping fingers and toes XXXX for you. Take your question list with you. I did when I went to Ilona's even though I'd known her for 4 years prior purchasing my little razz man. We sat down and went through "all" my health questions one by one, she was prepared with stats on lp, liver shunt, throughly on the bitches side, and back one generation on the dads side. She just smiled and said to me I have no worries placing this show boy with you, as usual you are just about over prepared for anything. lol lol. When I went to pick him up (I'd get a sneak peek at him) when I was training Magic, she had a care package for me. Some of his food along with the label so I could get the same kind, a blankey for him(with the smells of his packmate on it), his records in a package, the name of her vet, registration forms all pre filled out, a small toy for him, along with pics of puppy safe other toys, oh yes band scissors. Oh I can't remember all of it now, and of course this very yummy Russian cake and tea, to eat while we signed and went over once again all the do's n don'ts, what to train him on first, what to do if he showed following signs, etc etc. Gawd she only knew the name of that cake in Russian and there was no way in heck I could pronounce it. I adored it. She brought it over another time to my house for a BBQ and I thought great its name will be on cake box, it was in Cyrllic. lol lol lol I'm soooo excited for you |
I know that Cooper will be so happy to have a playmate! I was looking for a friend for Cookie(our yorkie) and (it took awhile) than a member on Yorkietalk contacted me about her SIN's 3 year old yorkie that needed a home. Well, to make a long story short, hubby, Cookie and I drove about 2 hours walked into the SIL's house and there were about 15 yorkies including puppies and only one came off the couch to greet Cookie and it was the yorkie that she was needing to find a home for!! They have been best buds! |
Hey! That's fantastic to get a sibling for Cooper! I can tell how excited you are!!:) |
Thank you everybody. Great information! I feel pretty good about this. I'm getting medical history, shot records, AKC papers, puppy food, health guarantee and other stuff I'm sure. Well, that's assuming I pick out a puppy....and how could I not?! I just hope Cooper has as much love to give as I do. |
Oh, Cooper may take a few days to figure out what fun he's going to have. But he'll be fine and will love to play. |

I sooo hope all works out, and you find a perfect sibling for Cooper! Keep us posted!:) |
Yeah, there's lots. I had a dominant, alpha Westie when I brought Lucy home and I needed lots of help! I actually got a little more help on the behavior issues on an all-dog forum. Hope I don't get in trouble for saying that but they just had some real experts on dog behavior there and I had a troublesome Westie. Plus, I was a nervous wreck from the get-go which didn't help any. All my yorkie info comes from here though! If you need help, let me know. We had about 1 month of really tough times. Cooper may not bat an eye though. I hope he adjusts really well and quickly! |
