Strange question Over the past weekend my girlfriend and I had to kennel our dogs. Neither dog has ever been kenneled; Ruger, my Yorkie is only 10 months old, and Miles, her Westie, is 8 years old. The kennel has an excellent reputation. When we picked up the dogs Ruger was fine, but Miles is acting very lethargic. Miles has been in and out of the vets since we got back and they can't find anything wrong with him. Ruger is just fine. I realize this is not a Yorkie question, but is it possible something psychologically happened to Miles while he was kenneled? He's been left with other dogs before, groomers, friends, etc., but he's never been left with strangers before. |
This happened with one of our dogs several years ago. She had separation anxiety and even though she was in a 'doggie suite' with our two other dogs, she wasn't eating anything. We called every day and the kennel said they were all doing fine. When we picked them up Chewey (14 lb lhasa apso) was so weak she couldn't stand up. After eating she recovered her strength and was fine. I hope your baby is ok. I would try giving him something that he really likes to eat and see if it helps. |
Thanks for the quick reply. The vet gave us some canned food that Miles can't get enough of, but he's not eating his regular dry food. So, he is eating. |
Good. Glad that he is eating. Please keep us posted on how he is doing. |
Aww hope he perks up soon! Keep us posted! |
