Such a sad story!! I just read an horrific article this morning about a woman in Frederick, Maryland who left her poor yellow lab in the car while she ran into Costco...it was 100 degrees outside and authorities say it most likely got up to 130 degrees in the car! When she came back out she found her pup dead BUT this crazy, insane and HORRIBLE woman had the audacity to go back into Costco and return all her pet supplies since she wouldn't "need" them anymore!! Some people seriously should not be pet owners....it makes me want to cry :( Here's the article: Frederick, Maryland Woman Shops at Costco While Dog Overheats to Death in Car, Then Returns Pet Supplies - City Desk - Washington City Paper |

How horrible. |
Heartless That women is just Heartless. She obviously never loved the dog. |
I read that too on another forum. I can't imagine leaving my dog to die in a hot car and then my first thought being ~ well, better go return all that STUFF. I don't think she cared about that dog one whit. |
Poor baby :( |
They mentioned this story on the local news here - and went further to say that woman's ex-husband had raised the dog from puppy hood. They had just divorced 4 months ago - he finally gave in and gave her the dog and then this. They reported that the husband was going to pursue animal neglect charges against the woman. |
It's just beyond me how people can be so stupid to leave their dogs in the car in this heat. But I also shake my head when I see people driving in the winter with -30 degrees C and have the window open so pup can hang their head or even half the body out of the window. |
That story just makes me sick. |
That poor dog. I will never understand the carelessness of some people. Her punishment should be the same as was what the dog went through. |
Gee.....dog's dead. I could use that 50 bucks! What a witch. |
This is absolutely disgusting!:( |

I just don't understand some people! I went to Petsmart yesterday to come back to my car and see 2 dogs left in a parked SUV. Only 1 window was cracked open about 2 inches and the poor dogs were panting. Its been insanely hot in Florida with heat indexes in the 100s. I waited in my car to make sure the dogs were ok until the owner returned. I had to bite my tongue so hard to not say something. She looked over my way as I glared at her and shook my head. The thing is she went to Petsmart..she could have taken them in with her! Ugggh! |
I thought there were really strict laws in Florida about this, like serious fines...I thought I saw it posted somewhere... Quote:

that poor dog ! It's easy to see where her compassion was - going back in to get refunds ? That's just plain coldhearted ! Peoples minds just blow MY mind sometimes - what a lowlife of a human to let this happen and be more concerned about what she bought |

Same here. I wonder how she sleeps at night. There are a lot of cold, evil people in the world. And a lot of them have animals and children. |

Here in houston it's a crime - I think they only get tickets but they DO take action if someone reports it. You can always get the license plate and make a quick call and let 5-0 take care of it. They talk about it all the time on the news and are def making people more aware of kids and pets left in hot cars. There's no excuse - just lazy people. 'IF you can't take your dog in where you're going then leave them at home ! |
That is so sad. I hope the ex-husband does press charges. |
ACK! That is horrible and I wonder if she has kids at home. Or does she no longer need that school physical to! |
This is awful !! |
