licking furniture what's up with that??? well i think i have already posted that bella who is 11 months is doing something really weird she is licking the furniture. i got some comments back and you guys told me that it may be because she might have a hair in her mouth or that she is licking the couch cause it may smell like food, but tonight i also caught her licking the walls! whats up with that? has anyone had that problem before of licking walls and stuff?:confused: |
Hmm I have never heard of that, Is she only licking not biting? My older dog Jess LOVES to lick my dads head for some reason LOL He has a shaved head and maybe it just feels nice on her tounge? Im not sure but this could be what your dog is doing also if it is only licking. You can get a spray from the pet store that tastes kinda bitter to stop them from biting furniture which you could try, but if she licks the walls too then you would pretty much have to spray the whole house LOL. Aslong as she isnt biting I dont see the harm in it but you could ask your vet next time your there. |
My pup does the same thing sometimes, he licks my white leather couch and I have NO idea why haha. Maybe because it feels cool on his tongue?? Nooo clue but I never really worried about it before, that seems to be the only thing he licks though...everything else he just chews!! :eek::p |
I'm so glad you asked this question my 5 month old Remy does this too I thought maybe she was smelling food on the couch but then it moved on to the blankets, my clothes and coffee table I hope we can find a answer. |
Ziva has this habit also. Now that she is older, 14 months she does it less often, when she is overtired (I won't let her go to bed til we do otherwise she gets up at 4 am), and if she is hungry in the evening (dinner for the dogs is at 5 and she seems to need a snack at 9 pm) I think she is looking to nurse, as her favorite spot is the leather couch which I think kind of feels like " mother". |
I know that boo boo likes to lick things when he is getting his tummy rubbed...it's kinda weird, but seems harmless. it's so funny though...he rolls over for a belly rub and then rolls his head back and licks the blankets, couch, floor...anything he can find. He used to try to lick my hand when I was rubbing his tummy, but i would stop...i think he just likes to lick things when he's happy and since I won't let him lick my hand he improvises... |
