Choke free harness Just got Max a choke free harness, like this, choke free, non choking collar, leather step in harness, choke free collar, choke free harness, non choking harnessin black. Max pulls a lot when I walk him,he usually makes himself choke. With this harness,he hasn't choked once!He also looks pretty cool wearing it!I ordered it from Friedas Boutique on Sunday, and I got it today.I would definetly order from them again. |
I have the same one for my Max. He does the same thing and this is the only one we've had success with. We have the blue ostrich one. :) |
that's exactly what i need for my little ones. i will have to order those. thanks for posting. |
Glad this one work for you, I also have the BB, and just order this one from a local pet boutique,Doggie Design Ultra Harness the puppia xs didn't fit Melody right, so I was told this one fit better between sizes, better than the step in puppia will see:rolleyes: |
I have one of those also, and I love it. It's easy to put on and Roxie doesn't choke anymore. Plus, I get tons of compliments on it from people! |
Cody and I walk every day and do a couple of short sprints during the walk. Cody was coughing/choking during the run when he was pulling me along. I first bought a leather step in which helped but still did some coughing. So I got a Puppia "Sport" mesh harness and I love it. It's wider around the chest which give him more protection. No more coughing/choking during our short runs. |
I have one for Pixie but she put on some weight so it's too small now. But I did like it when I used it. |
I have the brown croc and the powder blue choke free for Sugar. We also ordered from Frieda. They are made locally in Merritt Island Florida and designed by someone from Kennedy Space Center. They are truly worth the money you spend on them! |
Piper has the ultra choke free from Doggie design that hasn't caused her any problems yet! |
Haha my pup still uses his ferrett harness since he's so tiny :p These all look great though, definitely looking into these for when he's bigger!! |
How does it buckle on? I see it says "vel lock"...is that velcro? I've been using the Mr. Wags Mesh Harnesses on my kidz, and the velcro has really worked well...What I don't like are those little clip thingys, on each side, that you have to push in w/your fingernails to unlock...They make me crazy  |

I've been looking at these harnesses for a while now... I got a step in harness, but it is all raggedy now. I might get a couple of these once my other harnesses wear out :D |
I was looking into these. Do you think they're really worth the money, or is there anything comparable? With Jackson having a 16" chest, he's a bigger size which equals more $$$ unfortunately. I really like the looks of these though and would just get the regular nonmetallic black one, but having a hard time spending the money on one. He has 2 Puppia's now, which I love but I wanted something else besides a vest-type as well, since sometimes those seem like they could be hot in this hot weather sometimes. He's outdoors a lot and he would never swim with this harness on in the inground pool, but he does go into beach water with the harness, and baby pools at the dog park, etc. Do you think they hold up well outdoors? Who has the Buddy Belt and this and can compare? It seems like the belt buckle on the Buddy Belt would annoy me since I'm constantly taking on/off Jackson's harness throughout the day but maybe it wouldn't. Sorry for all the questions. Just looking for a "in depth" review on these. |
I have both Buddy Belts and Choke-Free harnesses and like them both for different reasons. I like the hole cut-out for their legs on the Buddy Belt a little better than I do the Choke-free design, but the buckle is a little more of a hassle to deal with. The velcro is definitely easier to work with than a buckle, except the velcro is a problem for dogs with long coats. But the choke-free velcro at least closes at the top of the back as opposed to underneath (like some harness vests), so that does make keeping long hair out of the velcro a little easier. You really can't go wrong with either one. The leather on my choke-free croc embossed one is a bit stiffer than other leathers but after a few uses does soften nicely. |
