No she didn't, and she didn't even look after my little Yorkie who for luck stayed pretty close to me -- it was by a busy street too! The policeman wanted me to go to the hospital, but I didn't go. I ended up with a bad headache, and kind of sore for a few days. Quote:

That happens to us a lot. The trainer suggesged I carry a small, pop up umbrella and open it in their face. That is kind of hard to do if the other dog comes from behind. Sometimes we take the S&W with us, might not be nice but but if they aren't going to control their dog or keep it from running loose and attacking, oh well. |
I dont walk mine anymore because of big dogs. The last time i did a big dog ran up to us and Chachi and Jewels were afraid and ran around me in circles wraping their leashes around me. It was a sight. Then the stupid owner comes out and says hes friendly. obviously that doesnt matter to mine and why do we have to go through all that when she is letting her dog off leash when we have leash laws. Anyway it just got to be a regular thing for us to encounter an off leash dogs on walks. Now we go to the park which is a 5 min drive from my house for walks |
I have similar issues with bigger dogs in my neighborhood. I take Boo boo for walks every day, and we encounter big dogs off leash all the time. When the owner is around they will yell out "oh, he's friendly" as if that makes it okay! People can be so inconsiderate! It doesn't matter if your dog is friendly or not, a large dog can seriously injure my little 5lb yorkie by simply stepping on him! It's even worse at night, I guess people are just too lazy to go outside with their dogs! I take boo out in the backyard and my neighbor's three giant mastiffs are always in my yard! He just opens the door and lets them out! It seems like every stray in town makes their way into my yard. It makes me so mad! I swear i'm the only person in town who goes outside with their dog! |
YES! We had to move to a new house because of our neighbors, who have a huge german shepherd who attacked my poor Bear. Bear was ok, but he has been limping on one of his legs... |

I thought the pepper spray could be dangerous to use on dogs because it could make them more aggressive. I know there is a citronella spray on the market, and I think Petsmart might carry it, to chase dogs off. I was having the problem of dogs running out at us when I walked my dogs. I think because I would walk four or more at a time, the dogs would run up, cause mine to go nuts, then think twice. However, I don't know if most of the dogs stopped because my dogs act like a pack of pitbulls or because I yell at the dogs. I've also firmly informed owners that we have leash laws. I told one owner that if I had to, I would start walking with my cattle prod again and if I had to use it on his dog I would. I don't actually have a cattle prod. ;) But when loose dogs started getting ridiculous, I complained to my homeowners association and I went to our homeowners meetings and brought the subject up. If I can keep my dogs contained, other people should be able to do the same. |

I purchased my air horn at Walmart. It fits in the palm of my hand. |

I just looked up using pepper spray on dogs and I guess it is okay as there are quite a few companies that make it for "humans, bears and dogs." |
Doesn't the air horn scare your own dogs? |
