Where can I find.... information about the Yorkshire Terrier breed in the UK. I know here in the US we have the AKC, which has general information, and then there is the breed club, YTCA which goes into detail and even states when puppies should be going home. I'm looking for similar information. For example: From YTCA Code of conduct: Rule 8 states that no puppy will leave the breeder before the 12 week mark. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America I'm looking for the standards that exist in the UK, but I don't know where to look. I googled, and found my way here: The Kennel Club then here: Yorkshire Terrier Dog Clubs ? The Kennel Club But when I click on the national Yorkshire Terrier club, there is no website and no info. Anyone else know where I should look? |

So now I found this: | The Yorkshire Terrier Club - Ethics | But I don't see where it says puppies must be this age before leaving to their new homes. |

Licensed breeders must: a) Not mate a bitch less than 12 months old. b) Not whelp more than six litters from a bitch. c) Not whelp two litters within a 12 month period from the same bitch. d) Keep accurate records. e) Not sell a puppy until it is at least eight weeks of age, other than to a keeper of a licensed pet shop or Scottish rearing establishment. |
Thank you again! You have helped me satisfy my curiosity. :D |
