Gonna have my babies micro chipped next time we visit the vet. I'd be so wounded to think of them lost and not able to find their way home.

Thank you for all your efforts to get this little dog back to his owners. :wavey:

Good for you! Don't forget to register the chip in your name or your vet's name. Lots of people think all they have to do is get the chip but part 2 is that you have to send in the registration to make sure they have your info...dogs have been found chipped before but not registered so it didn't help.

And...hopefully they'll never need to be scanned...:)

Thank goodness this little one found you to care for him while you search for his home. I read the article and maybe I missed it but from what I read it said to use black and white pics. It doesn't say not to use color--and I would think that color would be better. Please correct me if I misunderstood. :rolleyes: I'm praying that he's back with his family soon.

I'm so happy this little one wandered up to the right house! Thank you for keeping an eye on him and doing everything possible to reunite him with his family. I know if one of mine got lost, I would be very appreciative of someone going through so much effort.

Yes, black and white...that way someone calling has to actually identify color, spots, etc...and they can't just call and say hey, you have my little pink dog with purple spots.

Thanks for clarifying that. If someone is posting lost dog posters should they post color pictures? Sometimes I look at pics in black and white and it's difficult to see what the dog/cat looks like.

thats is very nice of you to go to great lengths to find how owner,, i had the same thing happen a few years ago, I thought what i want someone to do if they found my dog. I put up flyers with her photo on it called every shelter and vet around a week later still nothing and the dog had no idea what i was saying to her but she seemed smart. my friend who is a linguist and speaks 14 languages came over the dog knows german no english,, lol anyway never did find her owner I tried tried tried, my friend
adopeted her and has a dog that he can speak german to. Good luck finding its owner.

That's the point...if you see the dog in black and white you have to call the person who has it to identify it by color and markings. If you post a color photo anyone can call and say you have their dog because all the information is right there for them to see. It's not a matter of trying to keep a dog from their owner...it's a matter of trying to get the dog back with the rightful owner by proper identification and not just someone looking for a free dog.

Oh I think I worded it incorrectly. What I mean is, if a person loses their own dog and they are making posters to try to find their own dog should they use color pictures? I understand what you wrote about if you found a dog, but my question is should they use color pictures if they lost their own dog. You see, I was thinking that maybe it may be good idea to have flyers made up so that if your dog escaped then someone wouldn't have to spend time making posters. They could be out trying to find their dog. I hope this makes sense. I hope your little one's parents find him soon. They must be terrified. Thank goodness he found you.

O.k...yes, I would think if a person lost their dog then they would want to make posters with a color picture. :)

How disappointing...people should be home from work and no phone calls...

The more I look at pictures the more I think this little guy might be a Havanese or a Yorkie mix...someone should be missing him by now.

I certainly hope you get "that" call tonite yet. 'Wonderful of you to go through so much to make it easier for the owner to find you....Please keep us updated.
