Well, Piper has decided to be a pee pad baby. And I couldn't be MORE excited!! LOL!! I have secretly wanted her to be a pee pad girl, but I have tried to teach her the yard for my husbands sake. Well, she has gone on the pad (intentionally) four times today and he has witnessed three of them. He said he is happy about it and is perfectly fine with pee pads! It's a good thing too since it is storming outside and I really didn't want to stand in the rain! LOL! |
I always had larger breed dogs and couldn't imagine having pee pads in my house. With small dogs, I can't imagine not at least cross training to pads. They are just too fussy about bad weather. It also came in really handy when I fractured my ankle in a very bad car accident a few years ago and couldn't take Lady outside for along time. Her night vision is so bad now (she's 14.5), having her pad trained is a must. |
I hear a lot of people say that dogs just HAVE to be trained to go outside, but I love that mine know that "let's go potty" means we're going outside to do just that as well as knowing that they have the option of a pee pad if I'm not home and they have to go. Pee pads are Lilli's savior in the middle of the night too! She goes every night in the middle of the night, but I sleep hard so I never hear her get up! Washable pee pads are the best too, just bleach them and reuse! Saves a lot of $$ |
