So, my grandmother fell in love with Piper this weekend.... Now she wants a small lap dog of her own! I have been just "window shopping" through adoption ads. I found her a 6 month old Yorkie, 4.5 pounds, locally, $200 adoption fee!! I called my grandfather and he said to go ahead to surprise her for her birthday!!! SO, I am hoping to meet with them this week and find out the specifics. Piper might get a cousin! |
That's exciting. At least you know your grandma want's one and grandpa agrees. |
I'm sure your grandmother will just LOVE her birthday gift of a 6 mo. old Yorkie, and I sure hope she can keep up with one that will be lots of work. ;) |
That's so sweet! My gran loves dogs but her daughter doesn't let her to have one. :( She lives with her daughter. Looking forward to read your post when your gran gets her surprise! :) |
3 Attachment(s) Okay, went to meet "Gracie". She is adorable!! Her owner now had her and another female who is pregnant. He is letting Gracie go before the pups are born to downsize his household. She is six months old, 4 pounds 2 ounces, house trained, crate trained, up to date on shots and ready for her spay. She seems very healthy, her teeth are in excellent condition, she is well socialized and very friendly with all people. Yea, we brought her home! LOL! I set them up with a care package of Blue Buffalo small breed puppy (she is on Science Diet right now), a fluffy bed, harness, leash, bowls came with her, a crate came with her, treats, toys, a bell collar, shampoo, and a brush. I brushed her before I took her to them and she is a dream to brush! She just sits and waits. I explained why she needed daily grooming, her diet needs, her need for constant supervision, etc. They were so in love from first sight! They are great dog owners and I will be at their house at least once a week anyway (we always are). I also told them if anything happened so they didn't want her that we would take her. |
Oh that's great!! She is so cute. Looks like you have everything covered and she will always have a home. Tell your Grandma Happy Birthday!! |

AW what a sweet story! I love happy endings. I am sure there will be all kinda love going around in that house~;) |
That is so wonderful! She's a real cutie too. So, glad your parents will have a little one to love and she is so lucky to get a wonderful home. Please say Happy Birthday for me and Zhoie girlie. :D |
I am wondering if she isn't a silky instead of a yorkie. She is longer than the typical 'boxy' shape of the yorkie. Her tail is docked longer than I am used to seeing on a yorkie too. Either way she is wanted, loved, and adored. Just an observation. |

Aww, she is so cute! What a great surprise! I wish my grandmother would get a dog. She loves my two so much. It would help her get out of the house if she had a dog too. She doesn't want one though. :( |

Oh, she's adorable. How wonderful that you were able to do this for your grandmother. Is her name going to stay Gracie? |

She said she was keeping the name. I thought she would like it once I heard it. It fits her so well too! |
