FIREWORKS night...how did it go?? How did everyones babies do with the noise? Zhoie was in her cage, when we came home, in my neighborhood there were still putting off firworks, which were really close. We took Zhoie out to the backyard....amazing enough....she did so well. She just was watching them, then wanted down and ran around the yard doing her business. Go figure that one. She's shakes at so many things....but not fireworks. LOL |
my lil one is soon to be 10 months old and 3 pounds she is not scared of anything so our night was filled with lots of fun Pat from SC |
Bubba did pretty well-hid under the bed but not as much shaking as last year. A big thanks to the member who posted about Melitonin. I gave it to Bubba the pasted 2 days before the noise started and he was a little better this time. As for Sissy she could care less about fireworks. She asked to go out several times during them. |
Mine did a whole lot of barking. Everyone kept thinking that someone was approaching the door. Pops sounded too much like knocking, I think. Made me nuts. Could not even get them to stop with the magic box, because everytime they would calm down there would be another reason to start. Stuck working a day shift and when I came in at 5a there were several people out looking for their little ones that had run off last night. So far one reunited family. Hopefully there will be more as the day wears on. There have been some that are looking for theirs that have found others and are keeping them for the owners, so there may be much dog swapping. Reminds me that there are good people out there. |
Three of mine went under the covers shivering. They cant handle the noise. |
I have had 3 yorkies, none of them are afraid of noises,,, my one dog shaffer is afraid of his shadow lol,,, he is just a nervous dog, not sure why i have had him since he was 16 weeks old just always been that way he is much much better than he was but still nervous but i am glad that storms and fireworks dont bother them. |
There seemed to be so many more this year that was so close to our house with really powerful fireworks...i kept all of my babies inside but i rescued a german sheperd that lives a short distance from me, she was so afraid luckly i knew her and took her home her owner said she ran away when children nearby shot firecrackers |
I think "I" was more bothered by them than Pasquale. He slept right thru them. I on the other hand was awaken at 1:30am by the sounds of LOUD Fireworks. I can tolerate up to midnite...but after midnite i get a bit annoyed. |
Bijou did great when she wasn't around Barley when one went off. Barely is scared of loud noises. He wants to be held and hides his face. If Bijou's standing by him when one goes off she reacts to his reaction, but if she's not by him she could careless. It's funny how they pick up things from the other dogs. Anyone else have neighbors who think they should put fireworks off all week long? Yeah, that's mine, so weird. Hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day! |
Our fireworks here in the neighborhood were worse on July 3 than July 4. They didn't bother Lucy at all - but my Westie hated them. Though they have never bothered him before; he went upstairs and hid under my son's bed. We coaxed him out; turned on the tv and air purifier in my bedroom and we all watched tv in there. He was fine and Lucy was happy too cause we were all together! |
When the neighbors first started shooting them off, the dogs all ran outside and barked at the noise. Then when everyone started shooting them off full-tilt-boogey, they decided there was too much to deal with so they just came inside and curled up on the couch next to me. The ancient pittie, however, made the effort to pick himself up from his bed and come over to lay down ON my feet until it calmed down outside. No shaking, no real trauma - just a little closer cuddling. So all was well in my house. |
Prince barked at first, but after I picked him up and reassured him, he was fine. Thank goodness it was over about 10p. |
Hobbes barked a lot , Tessie would join in with him, and Calvin would have to try and be a big boy and bark with them. We had more fireworks because now it is legal to sale them in Georgia, just not the powerful fireworks. It lasted until after midnight. The went to bed and slept all night. |
It sounded like a war zone and mine slept through it...wish I could have... |
Mine did fine, just lots of barking when the big ones were going off. I think every neighbor around us was shooting them :) |
