Are they happy to live alone without "siblings"? She seems content but I guess I have the fantasy of 2 pups who love each other and running and playing all the time . Or should I leave well enough alone.
Does their age affect their acceptance,
Shes still young and playful enough to except a new puppy, or older and set in her ways??
Just wondering.. I'm home for summer so now would be the perfect time.
Thanks,
Janet | If they don't have a sibling, and you spend lots of time w/them, I'm sure they are quite happy being the only one...I got Apple's brother, Buzz, when she was a year old, and he was four months old...She was, definitely, jealous, for quite some time...In fact, after 8 months, she is still a little jealous...Funny thing is, Buzz is not jealous of Apple...However, Apple and Buzz play all day long, and if I even think about taking Apple outside, w/o Buzz, she looks back, like, get him too...She loves to boss him around, wake him up in the morning (he'd sleep 'till noon, if she'd let him), and I think she really likes having him here...They don't cuddle and coo, but act just like a little brother and sister, playing and squabbling over toys and bones...They are so cute, and get so much exercise playing...I use to walk Apple twice a day, for 30 minutes, but I don't even think it's that necessary, w/all the exercise they get...Btw, if there is another little one here, and they are getting to aggressive w/Buzz, Apple will jump right in, and stop it...She won't let anyone hurt her little brother...Adding a 2nd to our family was the best thing for us...Only drawback, is you don't tend to grab two up and take them everywhere w/u...Your friends are more apt to having one little yorkie over to their house, but maybe not two lol...I'm sure whatever decision you make, it will be the right one, for you and your baby... |
