Venting (skip if ya want) Pet adoption. I stopped by and saw some Yorkie mixes and a couple other small cuties. People please! I get so pi**ed when I read dog surrendered because "IT WANTS TO BE WITH US ALL THE TIME". Are you serious? You're giving up your dog because it loves you?????? Or a 4# poodle mix who was bred to a bigger dog and almost died giving birth. So the owners gave it up for the price of the vet bill they couldn't pay. I'm glad they took the dog to the vet when the puppy got stuck but WHY did you breed it too a bigger dog? HELLO????? Okay that's been eating at me a few days now. Feel better getting it off my chest. Oh and the little poodle mix is still having internal problems. :( |
Oh that's sooooo sad. My babies would die of a broken heart if I gave them up to a shelter. I can't even imagine giving up a dog because it is too attached to me. :( And breeding a small girl to a bigger boy ! ? ! ? Isn't that just common sense...big girl...small boy?? |
Why even get a dog if you do not want to bond with it?... I will admit Bruce can be needy and sometimes as a single gal he can be a bit bossy to my dates and give them a bit of an evil eye...But Bruce has seen me through the hardest days of my life, he has been there for me when no one else was and it has been his love that has given me the ability to get up and press forward. I could never imagine rejecting that! Why not just get a cat if you want a more independent pet?! |
Some people just don't get it. That's what you have a dog for. Would they give away their children because they were needed by them, or give them up because the medical bills were to expensive ? Some people really pi$$ me off ! |
Thanks for confirming my feelings on this. It's nice to know other people see it the same way as I did/do. |

My neighbor a few doors down got a labradoodle then gave it away after a year saying his daughter was allergic to it. I think they could have figured that out within a few days. |

I volunteer at a no kill shelter in the animal health area and enter health info on all incoming and existing animals. It is amazing how many people give up their "family member" because they are too busy, they had a baby, dog/cat won't housebreak, allergies, it goes on and on. Then there are the ones that just dump them at the shelter's back entrance at night. It's really sad to see the ones that were adopted out return for some stupid reason. As hard as they try to make sure the people adopting are committed to giving a forever home, some still get returned. It is so sad. |
I get so upset when I read things like this. I believe all breeders should be every bit as careful at placing a puppy as a rescue is. I think too many breeders sell to whoever has the money. I heard some real horror stories by the people who work in rescue and it's so common to rehome a dog, if the lady gets pregnant, or if they are moving, or if they can't potty train. A pet should be seen as a family member, not a disposable hobby, that you get rid of when it becomes inconvenient. Is Millie the one with the problems? Do you know what's causing it? Hope she's feeling better soon. |

It's hard to find real information on them, as most of the sites that come up are people saying how perfect the dogs are because they are selling them. When I stumble upon that information I'll paste it here. But as with any mutt, you never know 100% what traits you are pulling from which parents. |
