How can I help my shaffer I got 2 yorkies as puppies 6 years ago, I had one and he just wasnt enought fome I got 2, I never had dogs before and quickly fell in love. My first yorkie was fife, in hois mind I was the best thing he was a erfet litte buddy. Shaffer is sweet in hi sown right sure loves me but a different love than fife had for me, Shaffer always happy to see me abut was more cat like the love was on his terms, he and fife had a great bond like 2 peas in a pod, well this week I needed to put fife down because of his trachea, and shaffer now seems to be in a funk, and mad at me. He really doesnt love much of anything, he isnt eating much at all refuses to go for a walk goes out tinkles and sits down. I know how he feels Im depressed and broken too, but I dont know how to help him, anyone have any suggestions? I also changed the food a week or so back to the tatse of the wild from nutro, but in reading reviews I heard totw is better for more active dogs,, shaffer is less than active. Thanks for any insight |
I'm so sorry to hear about Fife (love the name). I think Shaffer (love this one too) is still grieving and since you are too, he is also probably sensitive to your feelings. I am sure both of you need some time to start feeling like yourselves. I feel so bad for both of you. Hope your hearts heal soon. |
I am so sorry that you have lost your beloved Fife. It is so difficult to see a beloved pet grieving. Bumping this up in hopes that someone will have some suggestions. Have you done any searches on the net for grieving help? Might be an idea. ~Joanne~ |
I'm so sorry for you loss of Fifi. I send heartfelt sympathy and will pray for God to comfort you. Poor little Shaffer is grieving and also, can pick up on your sadness. It will take time, I'm sure for you both to feel better. In the meantime, try to do things with him that he enjoys, like walk, playing with a ball, etc. I hope you both feel better soon. *HUG* |
Sorry for your loss. Just went through this last month. Pistol and I were both depressed after the death of our fourteen year old mini poodle. Time will heal both he and you. Pistol would not eat either and did not want to go outside at all on his own, they had always gone out together. We tried to do all his favorite things with him, and show him extra special attention. It took him about two weeks to get back to close to normal, although he still waits for his buddy to go outside but with encouragement will go now on his own now. He is bouncing back a little better than I am, but time is helping me too. Keep your chin up it gets better. |
