Here's hoping you don't have to find out. :) |
Isn't that the truth. I wouldn't want to be a breeder cause you get that curse of "an emergency" when the pups are too young (usually)! |
Yep, heard that story too - oh, I have an emergency and have to run off. You can still pick up the pup at my friend's/realtive's house. Or I can meet you at .....??? Never a good idea. I would have waited. Why don't you go by her house now and see for yourself. This way you can see the parents and the conditons in which they were raised. It is never too late to go back and see. And any reputable breeder would not mind and should understand. Your pup is a cute pet. Ears are a bit longer and coat seems a bit rough. She might not be able to grow a long coat, due to its roughness. But this is just from photos and would really need to see in person. There are different qualities of yorkies and unfortunetly it is most often hard for people to see the difference on a puppy when they are looking for that pup to buy. Reason why people need to research first and learn what to look for. Did you get her references? Did she wait and sell you the pup at 12 weeks of age or older? Did she do the health tests on the pup and the parents? Is it AKC? Did you get a written guarantee? Does she back up her guarantees? Many things to look for when considering a breeder. |
She looks all yorkie to me. She is a cutie and 6 months from now may look a lot different when her coat comes in and she grows in to her ears. |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk! Your little one is so cute! |
I forget! WELCOME to Tanny and her humans! |
Welcome to YT. She is adorable. She looks like my Sissy when she was a pup. |
She is adorable!! She looks all yorkie to me. She actually looks like a red legged yorkie to me which would explain her hair. Red legged yorkies hair is a lot more sparse and doesn't grow as long or as thick as a regular yorkie. You can do a search on here for red legged yorkies to see how they look to compare. Here are a couple of threads about red legged yorkies.... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...ed-yorkie.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...e-siu-pao.html |
Yeah this was my first time at looking for a pure breed pup, so I admit I didnt really know what to look for in a good breeder and probably made some mistakes- I'll be doing some follow up with that breeder I got my pup from... But I am so thankful that we got Tanny. She is so loving, playful, and full of energy. I know that she will grow up into a wonderful companion. Aside from having to be de-wormed, my vet says that she is in excellent health. But I know now to watch out for shady breeders- I've learned my lesson. As far as coats go, i had no idea that yorkies had such a variety in coat quality. Its a very interesting and confusing subject. Tanny does look a little like a redleg, but she has hair growing on her ears and her coat does not get coarse further down her back which I hear are distinctive qualities of redlegs. I was just a little concerned when sombody said that she looked like a Chihuahua mix... |
