Nikki visited his Mom today

I took Nikki to see his Mom again at the nursing home. My DH watched Pixie while I took him. They were both happy to see each other. I was sad to see Carol looking a little worse than the last time I saw her. Her spirits were low and she wanted me to find a place for her to live closer to me so she can see Nikki. I know her dtr won't let her even though she isn't going to see her much at all. I didn't tell Carol we were coming because I wanted to be sure I could leave Pixie. The look on her face when she saw Nikki was priceless.

Those are such bitter sweet pictures. You can tell they miss each other.

Patti, i hope there's someone like you in my life when i'm older. You are a true angel. :)

Patti, you're an angel. The daughter should be ashamed. Actually, she doesn't really look like she "needs" to be in a nursing home. It's too bad she couldn't live with her daughter. I'm sure she misses Nikki desperately.

Sadly, she can't walk and has no money. She is in a medicaid room. I can not imagine letting my Mom (RIP) live like that!

I agree with all...you are Carol's angel and if it wasn't for you, she wouldn't even know where Nikki was. Her kids would have gotten rid of Nikki and who knows what would have happened to him. I can't believe her own daughter moved her that distance and doesn't even come to visit her. I wish she was closer to you...it would make it so much easier for you to get there. You are right that Carol doesn't look as good as your last visit. Poor lady...I'm so glad she has you!

Thank you for the updates Patti, I like seeing pictures of Carol with Nikki. When my father was ill in the hospital (ICU for 6 weeks) the hospital had a policy that they would let patients pets' visit, they had special "pet visit" rooms available.

Nikki looks good, is he bonding with your family well?

Patti, I so enjoy the pics of Carol and Nikki together. Their obvious love for each other touches my heart. I'm so sorry to hear she's in poor spirits. I know these visits from Nikki cheer her tremendously.

what you are doing is amazing i recently got mystate certification and became a stna one of the reasons i took the job with the nursing home i work at now is because they allow pets to live with the patents
cats are a extra 5 a week and dogs a extra 10
i cannot tell you how amazing it is that you do this for her and lift her spirits
