I've used both of the pee pads. I really don't like having to wash them, so I prefer the disposable ones. I get 50 for $10 @ TSC or Big Lots. I have a huge water bill every month, so I figure I can buy them cheaper than washing them....Different strokes for different folks , I guess.;)
With three dogs, I still just use three or four pads a day.

I have always used the blue disposable pads with all 6 of by furkids and I have never had a problem with them ripping them up. They just potty and leave. Not even as babies did I have any problems.

I have read all the info on yorkietalk about the washable pee pads and still haven't decide whether or not I want to try them.

My question is:

Would it not encourage them to use other cloth like materials in the house, like throw rugs and stuff because of the texture being kinda of like the pee pad?

I used to use disposable pads and, yes, they do then use throw rugs as well. That is the one hazard, imo, to using piddle pads.

Does not matter what material you use....they still get confused.

I agree with you. Addy is now 15 months old and she uses the pee pads 99% of the time. But, it has taken this long to get to this point. I am still praying for 100%.

I just think the cloth pads would make this happen alot more often. I just can't seem to change her from pee pads to outside and I have a doggie door. Moving the pad closer to the door alittle at a time hasn't and I don't think will every work. She just goes were the pads use to be.

I'm sorry if I'm hijacking a thread, but my yorkie has started peeing a lot in the house again recently, even though he's trained to go outside, and does most of the time, it's just overnight he pees in the house.

I'm using disposable pee pads right now, and might just use them permanently, as in at night so he can at least feel ok about peeing when I can't let him out, but reading about these washable pee pads has really got me interested, and think they would save us a shedload of money if I could train Willie to use them. Only problem is I can't seem to find a stockist in the UK. Anyone got any suggestions for UK stockists, or a US company that will ship to the UK? Really need to cut costs where I can!

Have you tried looking on ebay? I have bought off there before. They might ship to the UK, but not sure, might be costly.

Or maybe Amazon.

Buying pee pads was becoming an expense for me as well. I am currently putting newspaper to use as well as taking my little man outside. It saves me money and also allows him to run around and play. Hope this helps!

I work at a hospital and bring home the ragged out pads. I give them to all my family and friends. They are great!:D

I keep my pads in designated areas of my house. My older dogs do not pee on throw rugs or anything else. I have one room that has a pee pad on the floor and also two small throw rugs and the dogs will use the pad only. I have kept the location of the bathroom areas the same for 10 years so Barney and Daisy will never have accidents. Teddy is a different story - we are battling with urinary problems (medical) which have presented some challenges with potty training.

I use Second Nature litter for my 3 puppies they shredded the pee pee pads. I got my two oldest pups from the same breeder who use them before I took them home. The youngest was pee pad trained but switched over after watching the other two use it. They also go outside.

I use both disposable and washable. The disposable ones I buy at Petedge.com. I buy 400 at a time and it works out with shipping to be about $25 for 100. They are very absorbent.

In America, you seem to get way better deals. Here in the UK, in my area at least, one pack of pee pads only has 24 in it, and they cost £12. So that's 50p, or roughly 1 dollar per pee pad, and at a rate of one a day, sometimes more, it can get pretty costly! I'd love to buy a pack of pee pads for the price you guys are getting if you're getting 400 in a pack!
