We had a major break through today! We travel a lot and we always take our girls with us...and the Benadryl  The girls are now 2 years and 9 months and I think they are finally getting over their car sick stage! :bananna: Maddie Jo gets sick just looking at the truck and she always pukes once we get on the road but Megan has been getting better on our last few trips. So, today they had a 20 mile ride to the groomer...after having a small morning snack...and about 3 hours later they had a 20 mile ride home and a cruise around town...and neither one of them got sick!! I know, I know...it may be too soon and I don't want to jinx any progress we are making here but I'm so thrilled! I'm hoping we can have a trip to Florida this summer without having to use Benadryl...that would be sooo nice for my girls! We did go from a 4 door, 4 wheel drive pick up truck to a mid sized, all wheel drive SUV so maybe that has something to do with it...I haven't taken them in the convertible yet...that should be interesting! |
That is awesome!! I know how frustrating this can be as my mom's yorkie has TERRIBLE car sickness. He LOVES LOVES LOVES to go for car rides though, but always has the pukies. It's so hard on them & you feel so bad for them... So I'm really glad your girlies are doing better & hopefully if you keep working with them on it slowly but surely, the Florida trip will be no problem! |
Thank you! It is awesome...a road trip without car sick dogs would be absolutely wonderful for us and them! We don't like using anything like Benadryl but we will if neccessary...hopefully we can get her through this. |
I finally found a cure for Addys car sickness. I bought a car seat high enough for her to see out the windows and I give her nutrical before leaving the house. I am so thankful that it works, because she would get sick every time we went on a long road trip. I hope your babies continue to improve. |
